State of the Union

A school of music that studies the rhythm of nature, a school of fashion that studies the elegance of the Universe, a school of design that studies the architecture of the ancients, a school of philosophy that studies the time-tested Truth.

I know it's old news, but what do you think of Bush's State of the Union?

Well, it's simple really. There were two reactions. lol

Republicans: It was a good speech.

Democrats: Worst speech coming from the worst president.

I thought the speech was pretty good. He said alot of things that the Republicans liked and some that the Democrats liked. It went both ways. The best thing he said tho was that we are too dependent on oil and need to find something else and when he asked Congress to support a line-item veto
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

Soren Kierkegaard

synopsis: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4668320.stm

my take: it is far more balanced than it was before and gave a lot more thought to the energy problem (always good however you look at it) and to socialist principles like health care and education (always good however you look at in - certainly in the states which is too much of a capitalist community). BUT!!!! it seems to be hollow words. the budget proposal cuts in the socialist things and increases the energy things. so. you all be fools to give it credit.
