Darwinism and Fertility Treatments

QUOTE(Kramer)I know this girl, we'll call her Two Delta. lol I've known her for a couple years. I really have no interest in being a close friend or dating her... but I definitely wouldn't pass up the opportunity to fuck her! It's not because I want to pass on my genes, though. It's because she's fucking HAWT!

OF COURSE!

I'm just saying, that deep down inside, part of what drives that attraction is that she would be a suitable candidate as a mate for passing on offspring. It's involuntary, you don't think about it.

I seriously doubt that. I want more than just a chick with a rock solid body. People use condoms and other birth control methods for a reason.

:@: Kramer  You're not getting my point- you DON'T volunatarily THINK about INSTINCT, it just has an underlying drive in whatever you're thinking.

Even if you're wearing two condoms and she has a diaphragm and birth control pills and both yours and her tubes are tied, the fact you want to root each other, there is some instinctual reason to want to conduct the process of procreation.

QUOTE(Kramer)No one has the right to tell a couple they can't have a child.

There are several million molested children that would probably disagree with that...Of course people dont' have the right, but thank god in some instances they have the authority...I know chaps in China right now that would probably slit their wrists if they had another child...No one has the right, persay, oh, but it can and does and will happen...But again, I don't think that is the issue...I think, and I'm pretty sure what emanon is saying, is that if you are born unable to have children...That's not something man dictated, that you should just let it go...Its not anyone telling anybody anything about what they can have or deserve...It's saying that if you need a fertility doctor to have children, you are going against nature...Your nature...That if you can't give birth, just adopt...Why force the issue..?

An interesting question, because in any situation besides procreation, I wouldn't be so quick to say...

If I were born blind, I'd probably seek treatment to be able to see if the means became available...If you're born with any disability, I guess the will to fix it and be 'normal' would be a desire...But I would hardly find it necessary...I can't really form an opinion about the matter, because I can't say for certain the likelyhood of bearing children is dependant or not on genetics...Maybe you would be able to bear children if your mom didn't try so many drugs in the 60's...Lots of factors...

Im with Kramer on this one...... I think it's unfair to sorta...tell people that dispite the fact they were born unable to make children and theres new developments that would allow them to........they can't.

so you all are putting the rights of the individual ahead of the interest of the species, which given enough time and the new freedom from natural selection will have this planet overun with a weaker, less robust form on Homo sapien. I am just glad it won't be happening in my lifetime!

LMAO.....

I just think that there are lots of factors that play into it...I'm not quite sure what it is...But if I were born unable to produce swimmers...I can't say the need to do some nippin' and tuckin' to see that happen...I understand that most have an Ego and wish to see mini' us walking around...But the fact that some people, like emanon, can live a good and full life without kids....

I don't know...Its not very logical...But again, I don't think that this is an ethical or moral decision he's asking for input on, and this is all I keep seeing rebuttal against, unless I got shit backwards...

This is you enjoying years of condom free sex, getting married, and then eventually discovering that you're not 'lucky' you're just not able...As a personal choice, what would you do..? I'd probably just keep givin' chicks the Peter North treatmant, and embrace other people's kids...As a father, man there is no joy like having a child...But trust me, it is a tremendous sacrifice...I couldn't imagine a life now without my son, but before I had him, I was just as happy...
