Drew Stanton finishes with 303 total yards against Pittsburgh.
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- The Pitt Panthers had so much success early against Michigan State that when the Spartans finally stopped them on their first possession of the second quarter, they never recovered.
Pitt (2-1), which led 10-0, then watched the Spartans score 38 straight points before adding a pair of too-little, too-late touchdowns as Michigan State (3-0) won 38-23 on Saturday.
"I think that we did come out ready to play today," Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt said. "I thought our guys came into this thing believing we could win -- but expecting someone else to do it for them."
Quarterback Tyler Palko said the key moment came in the second quarter when Pitt had to punt for the first time after a 3-and-out following Pitt's recovery of an onside kick.
"It seemed like it kind of deflated our momentum, and we never really recovered," Palko said.

Their schedule is just too brutal...Every major source I could think of had them loosing this month...Shit they almost lost to Ga Tech, I knew they were going to get mashed...Even Charlie Weiss voted his team down in the coaches poll...

I was talking to my friend on Wednesday and I told him that they were gonna choke this week against Michigan. I think the hype is just too much for them. Brady Quinn isn't used to this much pressure and I think it just got to him

Purdue, Stanford, Navy, Army, Air Force (if the Marine's had a team they would play them too).

They do have a tough schedule...but I do feel they're overrated...and they've shown it against Michigan and Ga Tech....

Clarett To Serve At Least 3 1/2 Years In Prison
COLUMBUS, Ohio --Former Ohio State football star Maurice Clarett agreed Monday to plead guilty to aggravated robbery and carrying a concealed weapon. The deal would send him to prison for at least 3†™¢¢¬…¡¢‚¬Å¡‚½ years and end two criminal cases against him.
The agreement was announced by Judge David Fais on the day jury selection was to begin in a case in which Clarett is accused of holding up two people outside a bar.
The concealed weapon charge was from his August arrest after a highway chase with police who found four loaded guns in Clarett's sport utility vehicle after they spiked the tires. Police used pepper spray to subdue and handcuff Clarett, who was wearing a bulletproof vest.
The deal called for a 7†™¢¢¬…¡¢‚¬Å¡‚½-year sentence with release possible after 3†™¢¢¬…¡¢‚¬Å¡‚½ years. The 22-year-old player also agreed to serve five years of probation after the prison sentence.
Clarett said he understood he was pleading guilty and reversing his earlier innocent plea.
Assistant Prosecutor Tim Mitchell said the plea deal is consistent with how his office handles similar cases.
"Anyone else would have gone to prison. He's not getting any special treatment,'' Mitchell said.
"As robberies go it wasn't as bad as some I've seen.''
Defense attorneys left the courtroom without commenting.
After the police-chase incident, Clarett was charged with two counts of failure to comply with an order from a police officer and improper handling of a firearm, in addition to the concealed-weapon charge.

Pac-10 Suspends Officials In Oregon/Oklahoma Game for Errors
NORMAN, OK --The Pacific-10 Conference suspended for one game the officiating crew and the instant replay officials that worked Saturday's Oklahoma-Oregon football game after finding mistakes were made in calls near the end of the contest.
Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen said Monday that a review by conference officials of video of the game revealed that both the instant replay officials and the game officials assigned by the conference made errors in the final minute and 12 seconds of the game.
An onside kick by Oregon after its first late touchdown was touched by a Ducks player before it traveled the required 10 yards, and the Pac-10 ruled that the ball should have been awarded to Oklahoma. The league also said that video revealed that an Oklahoma player actually recovered the ball.
Officials on the field gave the ball to Oregon, and replay officials did not overturn that decision.
During a subsequent play, pass interference was called on Oklahoma, setting up the winning score. The Sooners argued that the ball had been tipped at the line of scrimmage, thereby nullifying the pass interference call.
Replay officials did not see indisputable evidence to overturn the penalty.
"The fact that the errors on the onside kick altered the outcome of the game is most unfortunate and unsettling," Hansen said in a statement. "We had a solid veteran crew assigned, and the instant replay official had a fine career as a referee in the Pac-10. We believe in the ability and integrity of each individual involved. It should be noted that not all of the seven officials were directly involved in the play in question, but the entire crew bears responsibility for every play. Game officials and replay officials have positions of great responsibility and must be accountable for their actions.
"Errors clearly were made and not corrected, and for that we apologize to the University of Oklahoma, coach Bob Stoops and his players. They played an outstanding college football game, as did Oregon, and it is regrettable that the outcome of the contest was affected by the officiating."
University of Oklahoma president David Boren sent a letter Monday to Big 12 commissioner Kevin Weiberg, saying the officiating problems was beyond an "outrageous injustice," and asking him to pursue having the game eliminated from the record books and having the officials involved in the game suspended for the remainder of the season.
Weiberg responded with a statement saying the result of the game would stand.
"There is no provision under NCAA or conference rules for a game result to be reversed or changed as a result of officiating errors, nor do I believe there should be," he said.
