SAN DIEGO -- The existence of taped conversations between Reggie Bush or members of
his family and an investor in a failed sports marketing agency could confirm the New Orleans
Saints running back received cash and gifts while playing for Southern California, Yahoo.com reported Wednesday.

A federal investigation into extortion claims by Bush and his family revealed the existence
of the taped conversations, according to the Yahoo.com report.

I was listening to Dan Patrick this morning and he was talking about this...sounds like USC would be the most hurt if it is proven they knew about what was going on, which may be very difficult to prove.
Reggie's name may be wiped form the record books, and have to disassociate himself from the USC program. Then comes the question, what happens to the heisman trophy?

Too Bad...hope it was worth it. Couldn't wait just a couple of years to get paid?

Well, from the simple fact this all arose from the Bush family claiming this guy was extorting them, I don't think much of it...They tried to come up w/some shit before, this same shit I believe, and nothing came of it...

Shit man, RB was shaking hands with Dubya...If they can pull strings to get this man to the N.O. area and nobody really say anything about it, I know this isn't gonna be the story of the year...

Even if his family lived in a house like that, why would they erase his name from the record books? His stats have nothing to do with gifts or a house that his mom lived in. This is bullshit
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

It's a huge deal. College amateur athletes are not to be paid-period.
Putting mom and family up in a nice house, you might as well be paying them.
If he was being paid, then technically he was ineligible, and his stats,
heisman, and N.C. should potentially be thrown out.
I'm not sure if this should happen, but it makes for good discussion

Hmm, but it seems to me, the NCAA should do more to protect these kids, rather than run after them...Obviously, these guys are targets, and IMO, they should spend just as much time trying to make sure that this doesn't happen...

Say I am a college athlete...Someone walks up to my mother, and says, Ma'am, I'm a contractor, and I'm willing to build you a new home if you'll agree to put a sign of my company in your yard...She does it, and then when I go pro, I get penalized for it..? How can the responsibility of an entire family, rest upon the shoulders of a 21 year old..?

Why did Dwayne Jarrett almost loose his eligibility, cause his roommate's dad helped out with the rent..?
