I'll admit, I'm an avid sci-fi fan. Pretty much, any new sci-fi show that hits TV, I'll give at least the first episode a try, and then decide from there whether it's worth following. Because back when I was a kid, sci-fi shows were few and far between.
Anyway, here's my list of the sci-fi shows that I currently follow (when they're in season). These are in no particular order ...
- Battlestar Galactica (new series)
- Doctor Who (new series)
- Heroes
- Stargate & Stargate:Atlantis
- The 4400
- Lost
- Smallville
And here are some recent shows that have come and gone that were once on my "must-watch" list. Sadly, some of these never got much of a chance to build an audience, because the networks don't seem to understand how to market anything other than reality shows. Again, these are in no particular order ...
- Firefly
- Farscape
- Enterprise, and all other Star Trek shows
- X-Files
- Sliders
- Dark Angel
- Earth 2
- Battlestar Galactica (old series)
- Lost In Space
- Six Million Dollar Man
- Twilight Zone & Outer Limits
- Quantum Leap
Are there some shows missing from either of these lists that you watch (or watched)? Or are there some shows on either list that you think I'm crazy for liking? Let me know!

Re: Which Sci-Fi Shows Do You Watch?
I got addicted to Heroes, and am going through withdrawls now from not being able to watch Smallville...I'm safely addicted to those two TV shows, and that's saying alot, cause other than that, there aren't any shows I really feel I have to see...
I'll watch something if its on, but I'm indifferent to the genre lots of times...
But when I was a kid, Six Million Dollar Man, Knight Rider, Street Hawk, Airwolf, Twilight Zone, Tales from the Darkside...And especially Wonder Woman...Yeah, I was in the mix regularly... :)
TV just doesn't seem as good now as it did back then, all these fucking reality shows...

Re: Which Sci-Fi Shows Do You Watch?
Hm. Really? See, I find that for the most part, sci-fi shows have much MORE of an edge these days than they used to. Back when I watched shows like Quantum Leap, I thought they had an edge, but when I re-watch them now, they don't seem as strong. By comparison, shows like Battlestar Galactica, the new Doctor Who, and Heroes are SO tightly written and extremely riveting. I used to "look forward" to seeing a new episode of Quantum Leap ... but it almost pains me to wait for a new episode of BSG.
I think part of it is that the writers of these shows write huge plot arcs now. They know what's going to happen ten episodes from now, so they build in all these cues and mysteries and suspense points. Which I don't think is something that sci-fi shows from my childhood did. The X-Files did, to some extent, but even there, it seemed like they were winging it sometimes ... which is probably why the series finale was so underwhelming.

I watch the new Galatica series (which is fantastic) but that is about it. Not too many other sci fi shows really catch my attention.

as for past shows ..
Star Trek (TOS and Next Generation)
Farscape
Smallville (didn't really get into it much)
Six Million Dollar Man
Incredible Hulk (I know more comic book than sci-fi -- delt with gamma radiation though)
Babylon 5 (absolutely fucking RULED!!)
if I think of more .. I'll amend my list .. lol
