The Next Super Hero cash-in
What should it be?
What comic are they missing in their hollywood assault? What hero needs silver screen action. Bonus points if you throw a idea for a plot in.
I will start:
HAWKEYE!!! Clint has the perfect story for a great movie with not too much larger than life. A great story in general, and lots of fun.

Re: The Next Super Hero cash-in
If the Chief of Wakunda (hopefully T'Chaka) reminds people of Bat-MAn... that is epic failure to properly represent Black Panther.
(Would be awesome if in Black Panther movie was about T'chaka training his son for leadership and he died, and left T'challa in America with the mantle of chief, and the powers of black panther, and the need to avenge his father.)
Could easily use some modern struggles in Africa to contrive a reason. I really like the idea of Black Panther as vigilante exercising diplomatic immunity to get out of a thick. Fuck a secret identity!
<picking wit Ty>
Black SuperHeroes? Oh no he didn't! Blankman wasn't enough?
For Real: Monica!
All about Monica Rambeau... AKA Captain Marvel. She is/was/will always be so hot!
great presence in comic history, as well.
Let that girl from Skeleton Key (kate hudsons friend from the bayou) play Monica, and I will buy two copies of the movie.

Deepak and darklighter beat me to it and a big surprise coming from me, right? :
Green Lantern!
The climax of the movie should have a battered and beaten Hal Jordan, shrouded in darkness, struggling to find his battery to recharge his powerless ring. With the enemy quickly closing in, and his ring still recharging, he utters the words "In brightest day, in blackest night ...."
An explosion of green light streaks through the night sky, ramming the antagonist full force, Hal's eyes glowing a bright green, with the musical theme reaching a crescendo:
"BEWARE MY POWER, GREEN LANTERN'S MIGHT!"
It could be great! :)

Re: The Next Super Hero cash-in
Green Lantern would have the be retconned like crazy to make a good movie. Because THREE times the book was totally rebooted because writers made huge mistakes. First, you will have to face the fact that most Green Lantern fans will want Hal Jordan. However, most new fans of the Green Lantern either want Kyle Rainer, or more likely John Stewart. And if most kids now adays know the Green Lantern as the John Stewart in the Justice League from the animation series... John might be your best bet.
Also, DC has some series lack of Black Heroes, and this may be the biggest they could make. Furthermore, alot of black people consider Green Lantern the black hero, and making someone other than John could be a cause for offense, ignorant as it may be. But offending people never is a good box office strategy.
Mostly John Stewart in the comic was the third string quarterback for sector 2418. Guy Gardner was second string, but way not in control of his anger. He also stands as the least liked, and has the smallest fan base.
So, in keeping with this book's sci fi bent you might need to also consider who would be the enemy. For example, if you make Sinsitro the bad guy, you have to make his Sin Corps... which means the only they get stopped is by a sentient form of the Smallpox Virus that was made a Green Lantern (in some of Alan Moore's worst writing ever, personally, which he admitted was inspired by the battle in the Sword in the Stone).
Also, you have to face the disbelief of the crowd about vulnerability to the color yellow, because of Parallax, and in order to destroy that "impurity" you have to kill Hal Jordan, which was what made people drop the book by the thousands. Then, to fix that, you need no less than The destruction of Coast City, hardly the actions of a hero..
Despite that, Hal Jordan, from the onset, a test pilot rolling his jeep and killing his friends while drunk is about to stand trial, and is testing a flight simulator. In fact Hal is in prison when Sinistro busts him out to train him how to use his power.
And you need a battle between Superman and Cyborg Superman and Superboy Prime. Then you need a Krypotonian refugee with a Green Lantern ring to whip all three. You also have to include The Flash, and the best part of the whole Drama was how Bruce Wayne could simply not forgive Hal for destroying hundreds of thousands of people, even if he became the FRIGGIN SUN and the later popped up out of a ring on Kyle Rainers finger.
The Green Lantern in a movie is a great idea, but you would have a scizophrenic mess unless you truly revamped the story. I am doing that,.. trying to make an alternate world where Our solar system is the intersection of 4 space sectors, and Alan was the one Green Lantern assigned to them all. He was killed in action, and Abin Sur was assigned temporary duty, and recruitment.
He recruits Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rainer, and John Stewart. All of them get rings that recharge off the lantern Alan had. In fact all Green Lantern rings are designed off of the one Alan made. And to keep a Green Lantern from being totally invulnearable, each needs a vulnerability. In the case of the four in this movie idea,.. each is incapable of effecting one of the others.
Guy can not affect Hal.
Hal can not effect Kyle.
Kyle can not effect John.
John can not effect Guy.
more later.
