Personally, I like Reverend Wright. Seems like a guy who wants people to think. I think I see what he is trying to say, and I think he has some good points and some real inflammatory statements that make it easy for people to be offended but for no reason. He also has some biases that I will not try to take from him, but will not stand behind. Can't much change the old ways of the old folk, especially in politics or religion.
I don't see much spiritual in his talking points that are spewed out all over, but I am not in his congregation and don't offer in his collection plate, and never really rely on the Legendary Pink Dots that babble constantly in the infovision misinformation networks.

Re: Church of Christ calls for talks on race
I just don't like it when public figures loose their cool and spout out ridiculous things...
"The clips show Wright saying God should damn the United States and calling the country the "U.S. of KKK-A,"
And to call him a prophet..? Gyahlee man, please...I enjoy some church, but I do so knowing it is what it is...I have just always thought that salvation comes from within...And like you said raum, seemed to me to be on a political soap box, not a point of teaching and spiritual improvement...
