What are Angels..?
Seems a simple enough question, and at least one everyone here should have some general idea of what they are...I am inclined to believe that the general concept of an Angel and what it is stems from our experience or knowledge of religion...Be them little chubby children, womanizers, or fierce sentries, what comes to mind when you think of them and their origins..?

An angel is a being that is helpful to you, or tries to be helpful.

Re: What are Angels..?
Depends what the context of the question is to me. In normal terms for me an angel is anyone who actually does some good that you were really not expecting. However looking at the religious side of things angels are considered to be those individual beings that look down on you and basically use their invisible hands to help you out in the day to day runnings of your life. Oh whats that movie where they were trying to win that baseball thing.
To me though an angel is basically an individual who helps you when you least expect help.

I thought, in the literal sense, Angels were God's warriors? Even He needs an entourage, right? :)

Re: What are Angels..?
Angels (malikim) are the Emissaries of the the Highest Octave of Thought, El, or as he has come to be known, God. God comes from the Hebrew word G-d, pronounced Gehd, more than Gahd.
G-d is synonymous to the Egyptian term "Kizmet", and in most ways the Chinese word "Tien Ming." The best translation in english is "Supreme Authority indicative of and granted by Divine Providence."
G-d is the trajectory through the Universe by which the presence of El is observed.
Were the entirety of El (Achad Elohim Tzabaoth) to come into presence in singularity, Creation would be undone. Think of this world as a pool filled to the rim with water, of a sort, with the exact volume of your own body. Were you to jump directly into this pool, a great splash would occur and very little if any water would be left. However, if you stuck but a fingertip to the surface of the water... there would be little interference.
It is in this way that all Angels are appendages of God that can act as his agents in this world, without making too big a ripple. However, when a greater portion of his countenance is extended here, a rather big splash can occur. It is for this reason that one's path to the natural birthright of Man, which is called "Godhead" (Messhiach) should be gradual, slight, and persistent.

Re: What are Angels..?
Angels are 'beefy', heavily armed, violent, unwashed, laundry challenged bikers that 'ride' loud, smoke belching, poorly maintained crap looking Harleys slowly..... aren't they? :?

Re: What are Angels..?
the "origin" of the emissaries is itself up for much debate and contemplation.
What is the origin of your fingertip?
