Son of Yankees’ VP has past steroid arrest

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - The son of Yankees senior vice president Felix Lopez was told to stop hanging out at the team’s minor league complex after senior management became aware he was arrested on a steroids possession charge in September 2002.

Felix Manuel Lopez III was seen by reporters working as a trainer with players at the Yankees minor league complex this month, performing tasks such as putting down cones for running drills in the outfield. The Yankees say he never was employed by the team and he was told by his father to stop showing up at the minor league complex.

It really kills me to say this...cough cough...but the Yankees have become the poster child organization for rampant steroid use.

I stumbled across this contest going on for "honorary bat girl" with the mlb. Each team will have an honorary bat girl for one home game this season and she is chosen by votes. It is focused around breast cancer and the entries talk about how breast cancer affected their lives. It's really cool to read the stories. If you ever get bored, log onto mlb.com and look it up. Read some stories and vote. I already voted :)

I was reading no joke for at least an hour and scrolled through so many pages. Lord if I could find it again. I do know that the lady was a die hard fan and didn't do a sob story. She was great and instead of going for sympathy, she shared how much baseball has kept her occupied and gave her something to look forward to. That's great to me. Go vote!

LA Times Reports Manny Suspended For Performance-Enhancing Drugs

Manny Ramirez has tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs and will be suspended 50 games starting today, The Times has learned.

Ramirez is expected to attribute the test results to medication received from a doctor for a personal medical issue, according to a source familiar with matter but not authorized to speak publicly.

With the suspension taking effect with tonight's game at Dodger Stadium, Ramirez will not be eligible to return to the team until July 3.

Ramirez did not appear in the clubhouse after the Dodgers' 10-3 victory over the Washington Nationals Wednesday night. After the game, Dodgers General Manager Ned Colletti and Manager Joe Torre said they were unaware of any failed test or pending suspension.

As unconfirmed reports circulated around Dodger Stadium on Wednesday night, Scott Boras, the agent for Ramirez, declined to comment.

Major League Baseball spokesman Pat Courtney said he could not comment, citing the limitations stipulated in baseball's drug policy.

Rob Manfred, baseball's top labor lawyer, and Michael Weiner, general counsel for the players' union, did not return multiple messages.

It cracks me up that Manny is so stupid. When he comes to play at Petco Park, people love to mess with him. There are great seats right behind left field and people make all sorts of signs and sign songs to him. He even reacts which is the best. He's such a turd. Good riddance Manny.
