More gimmickry. Feige just announced both Thor & Cap movies will be 3D-ized post-production here: http://au.movies.ign.com/articles/110/1106049p1.html

I know right? How many friggin viking movies have been made for you not to be able to understand how this should look? This looks more like The New Gods with Darkseid and all of them than anything having to do with Norse Gods. Someone else said they look like extras from the Watchmen and I really have to say that's pretty accurate.Sir Jig-A-Lot wrote:Triple Oy!It's Batman & Robin all over again..
They really have lost their way...
..Can someone sit these people down & show them Pathfinder or Conan...Red Sonja even!

Kirby's New Gods looked better than that. Ditto for the dystopic Watchmen. Those Thor costumes are the bastard offspring of Daredevil/Batman&Robin/X-Men3. Like I said Y M C A.

HA! the second link has already been taken down. You're right Marvel has lost their way. They made so much on Iron Man maybe they think if they do everything on the cheap now they can still draw in millions and be alright even if everyone hates the movies. Well I guess DC and Warner Bros must be lovin this. If Green Lantern is at least 50% more accurate than these movies than they'll have begun winning the movie wars.Sir Jig-A-Lot wrote:More gimmickry. That YMCA thing was awesome. I just can't understand how they could betray their own vision so badly? I can see a studio like Sony or Fox doing it cause HOllywood always thinks with it's giant ego it can improve on the source material but Marvel themselves to be doing all this is just mind boggling.Sir Jig-A-Lot wrote:Kirby's New Gods looked better than that.

I'm telling ya, Feige is Avi Arad's disciple. His sins started with Incredible Hulk when he wouldn't allow Norton & Letterier to release their cut (even though Ed was hired as screenwriter too). Even for home dvd release they were denied their version. Iron Man 2 continued the trend by Feige forcing his "Greater Marvel Cinematic Universe" onto Favreau by making him cut out 30+ minutes of stuff he'd already filmed just so IM2 could service The Avengers & Cap by filming new unecesssaary stuff involving SHIELD. Matt Fraction spilled the beans on Feige & IM2 btw. Now we've got AsGaydians & a USO Cap on the way. I bet the moment Feige makes enough dough, he'll go "independent" of Marvel & head for greener pastures like Arad did. You're right Marvel has lost their way. Wow never heard that stuff about Fage`. That is really unbelievable how someone like that gets control. I just still can't believe it after how great the first Iron Man was. So now instead of these movies getting stronger and stronger and given there just due they'll instead look like so many crap video game movies that are all just flash and looking for the quick buck. So sad Marvel betrayed themselves like this. I mean how do you screw up Thor's orgin and look? It's almost impossible to do and yet here we are and the same with Cap.

Re: Thor
Not to me. In the film game, it seems to be the shitalkers who con their way into the top jobs pretending they have the company's best interests at heart. Check Feige out in the Incredible Hulk dvd extras & compare them to what was actually released to the public. There was no way the scenes with Banner getting therapy from Doc Samson (which were heavily featured in early teasers/trailers) would have been cut out by an exec who actually cared about the source material (thereby making Samson redundant) or changing the look of Abomination for fun.darklighter1 wrote:That is really unbelievable how someone like that gets control.

Yeah well that's for sure. I really still haven't really watched that movie since I sat through it a couple times in the theater cause of what the Abomination ended up looking like. He really was an abomination! And I don't mean that as praise. :p
