To me there is always gonna be all types of music for all types of people. Which means there is always gonna be someone paying homage/aping a past generation of artist. Some can look at beyonce now and say she is this era's Tina Turner with her live shows. And when our kids are teenagers growing up ten years from now being fascinated with the next pop sensation they might call her the next Beyonce. I don't think there will be any music that will die. If someone is successful doing a certain thing. Someone is sure to be a fan of it and want to emulate it later.Sir Jig-A-Lot wrote:No, I can't. Not takin' that away from her. Nor will I laud her for milking it either. Keys' work will stand the test of time cos it's diverse. B's work no doubt will continue to give her coin aplenty (especially when it starts being used for ads), but I doubt the material will be revered 50 years from now. It's as disposable as pampers.-84 wrote:Can't fault someone for going with something that made them alot of money.
You may personally hate her as a musician but there is alot of teen/tween girls who worship that woman and will try to emulate her. Which help keep her style alive.
At the end of the day most are gonna try to put out the best music they can. Because of the passion they have for their craft and their legacy.
So I don't expect Beyonce to ever phone anything in. I honestly think her drive to be the best is to much for her to fade away easily. One thing you need to consider is that Jay z married this woman. And from the image we have of Jay is that this man is no fool and he wouldn't marry just any chick. I think he is gonna make her better just because of their relationship.
With any artist as long as they put out records I enjoy I will listen. Life is to short for petty elitism.
There is a reason most consider them a power couple.
