I was late on finding out there were extensions finally built and designed to work with Opera, but I am all the more glad they took the tme to get it right.
After some 3+ years, I've finally weaned myself completely from Firefox (to be honest, I only used it 2 out of every 100 times I entered the net).
Currently, I have the one extension installed, (Download Media Bar) and it basically absorbs all the functions I used to only used Firefox for...
I have yet to try it out, but has anyone used Opera Unite with any success? It looks intriguing to me, as it sounds like the next logical step up from Sync, but with a more sociable component, though I haven't even had the time to test it out yet, now six-seven months later.
As an aside, for those that still use Firefox, is it true the only way I can check out my data that is stored on Firefox Sync (fairly new service) is to download 'Firefox Home'?
The only gripe I've had over the last half dozen builds of Opera I've downloaded/operated, is that they are very much less stable than the 9.52 I rolled with for more than a year. It probably has something to do that on a lazy day, I can have upwards of 30 tabs open across two windows, but the crashes Opera has forced me to endure is now a once-weekly occurrence. Nowhere near as bad as Firefox has become, but it did force me to look towards Google Chrome as my "back-up" web browser now. I've only used it twice now this week, but it, too, has frozen, just because it was waiting for a new (blank) tab. I hear one of the main problems with Google (as a whole, and besides the allegations of monopoly / privacy concerns) is that the company refuses to give its users free reign over the simple option of turnning off predictive text / autocomplete in both both its browser's interface, as well as all search functions. I also, believe, in part, this is why Google Chrome takes a while to load, recapture, and why it slows down on occasion.
Ah, I almost forgot why I originally bumped this topic back into relevance for...
Has anyone had any success in using the new Google Reverse Image Search in tandem with Opera builds?
I searched for extensions that might be of some use to make it work, but it might be too new a service still (it was announced about 1-2 weeks ago).
since I've switched to Linux, I really haven't had the time to play with Opera like I was...Firefox runs great on Linux and I have had little reason to use any other browser since all my extensions work...Should install it just to see and give it a go...
As a tie-in: have you made the most of, and utilized Firefox Sync yet?
Seeing as the service evolved from a company extension into full-fledged browser feature over the past 1-2 years, and it mimics what Opera Link has had for a few years prior, I wonder how you find it (assuming that you have used both browser services, or even one of them).
I signed up for Firefox Sync about two months ago, only because I didn't want to (read as: didn't know how to) export my bookmarks, then I proceeded to uninstall Firefox. There's only so long one can hold onto a web browser, and that time is 5 minutes and 2 years, respectively, considering how long it takes Firefox to start up, and the last time the company has rolled out a new and improved update to their internet browsing experience.
Sync is a waste of time...Lastpass and Xmarks = good to go for me...
I haven't had a chance to use Link fully, but it works pretty good to start, as I use Opera Mobile on my android...It moved over my bookmarks and speedial with no problems...

But for what I do on the internet, Firefox just has no equal...Having a browser that could do all the things Firefox does would probably give it all the same, if not more, problems than Firefox has...Chromium has some fantastic features, especially the one that allows you to back up your extensions and bookmarks with your google id...But if I run across a gallery of images with no archive to download, its Firefox to the rescue...
