So he took the job. Man..he leaves teams so much it's crazy. Would you want Larry Brown as the coach of your team knowing that he'll prolly leave?

I heard this morning that he was fired from Detroit, not that he left...They were saying that they wanted to fire him earlier, when he was having health issues...Either way, I like results...How can you argue with those..? He makes bad teams good, and always...
But, with his new team..? We will certainly find that out, cause the Knicks suck big time like backstage groupies...
I think the NBA is going to be much more interesting this season...Lots of good stories leading up to the start of the Season, with LB going to the Knicks and Phil back w/Kobe...

Yea...there are alot of good stories.
With LB though...he does make teams better but has only won one championship. Sure...they get better..but only one championship? I dunno. He leaves so often that I wouldn't want to be put in a bind with having to look for a new coach without much warning

Larry Brown's a smart guy and he's pretty media saavy, one of the few coaches who is universally respected. If he left New York before his contract is up the NY media would crucify him and he knows this, so I think he'll be with the Knicks at least 5 years this time.

5 years? No way. He'll make the team better and get it into the playoffs but with the pistons he inherited a 50 win team now he's going to a craptastic bunch with a star player that has a selfish past. I give him 3 years top, probably 2 though.

You gotta remember though, they just made him the highest paid coach in sports history, $12 million a year! No other team can afford to pay him that much. There's no way he's just gonna walk away from that after 2 years. Plus, he's from New York. His family wanted him there. They'll push Isiah out the door before Larry.

He gonna walk away. Lost was right. He's not gonna last there. He's had some medical conditions already and the stress of the New York market and of this team will get to him. He's not gonna last 5 years

You think he'll let the media get to him?
Uh... maybe you've been under a rock the last 2 months when on every sporting news show they featured a half an hour on him...every single day. Leaving teams and bouncing around the league has toughed him up in the media.
The Media is the least of his concerns on this team.
You worried about him staying around? I'm worried about how long Isaiah is gonna keep him ..or anyone around, until he decides that he wants to coach the team. The team is overloaded at SG, and has no big man to speak of. Channing Frye sucks, dont mention him.
The Knicks aren't making the playoffs. Larry will stay until his contract is up, and then he'll be done with them. The "Turnaround" coach deal isn't gonna work this time. The Knicks are horrid, and in a conferrance with many up-and-coming teams that have talent that makes the Knicks look like a confused highschool team on their first day of practice.
Fuck Larry Brown, he isn't even in the league of the other coach who switched jobs, from doing commericals to coaching the Lakers again, the Zen Master Phil Jackson is back, and I'm sure glad to hear it. My man Kobe is gonna be leading the league in points this year now that they don't have a tomato can for a coach anymore. Once Lamar Odom gets his act in gear, which Phil Jackson will make sure of, The Lakers aren't looking so terrible anymore.
This year doesn't have has many stories aside from the coaches, which will blow over after a couple weeks.
The NBA God has returned.

So...
The length of time that he's signed isn't enough for him to turn that team around..?
