So Raum..let's phrase it a different way. When the first human was created/appeared, was he/she a child or an adult?
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

I dont' see that the Bible distinctly makes a case Adam was first made a full grown man, if that's what you mean...
In fact, I would say if you are taking Genesis to biology class, you are probably trying to answer questions that common sense does on its own.
like chickens and eggs.

I wasn't implying any creation vs. evolution stuff with that. I just wanted to know if you thought the first man was a child or an adult

According to my understanding of evolution theory, a man/woman is a child of the previous generation and an adult of the next generation

Egg came first
I believe it was the egg that came first. I don't have much evidence to back it up, but I reckon it's to do with evolution.
Remember that dinosaurs were also born from eggs. That means that eggs were around before chickens!
If you are stuck between thinking it's ALL evolution or ALL creation, think of it like this. God created the first thing, then everything evolved from there.....

In the whole scheme of things....egg has to come first...
but just chicken vs egg.....gotta go with chicken because the unurtured egg wouldn't develop into one without warmth of its mother.
but...whole scheme...actual science and biology and not assuming the chicken or the egg started in a room seperate from the world.....egg has to be first.
