QUOTE(Lost Ghost)Malone never won a championship.....so he's not great huh?

You didn't ask to list every single great power forward, you asked greatest of all time.

QUOTE(trashtalkr)What about Marino though? Great QB, Hall of Famer, best of his time yet he never won a Super Bowl. Does that mean he's not great?

Again, tell me where I said Malone isn't great then come talk to me. Marino is not the greatest QB of all time because he never won the SB. And it's not like he had to win 4 like Montana. With the numbers he put up all he had to do was win one and he would have been hailed as the greatest ever. Had he done so in 84 he might be able to make that claim. Malone is the same way. If he had one ring (and I'm not talking had he won with LA, but in Utah where he was the leader) I would have said his one ring trumps all three of Duncan's, but he didn't. I said greatness is about accomplishments, and championships are just as much a part of accomplishments as career points. I would never sit here and say Rasheed is greater than Malone because he has one ring and Karl has none, but there's a difference between winning one ring and winning THREE.

That's true, but remember, Malone had a chance to break Kareem's all time scoring mark if he had just stayed in Utah, where he would have been the #1 scoring option, but instead he chose to go to LA where he was no higher than the Lakers #3 scoring option, so that alone tells us even he wasn't concerned about the scoring titles, only the ring.

Which he still didn't get. I think Duncan is just a better all around player anyway....
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"
