Well...tell me where Perfect Land is...and if you can't....then you've proved no point. Every location in the world has broken families...shots ringing out in the streets on occasion...having a good chance to graduate ?!
wtf?! Since when did you level of intelligence have to do with where you live?
I could move to Harlem right now....and graduate. I could have been born in Harlem...and I'll still graduate.
Are you trying to say people who live in rough neighborhoods are dumb?
Again....ignorance.
If someone ever tells me that they didn't graduate highschool because they lived in the ghetto growing up....I'll never look at them the same again.....thats the lazy type, who sits back on his ass and blames the world for shit that has or didnt happen to him. If you don't graduate highschool...its not because you live in a ghetto...if that were the case...the graduation rate would be 0% in all "hoods that aint no suburb G"
All the generalities you're making are wrong and ignorant....just live they were the first time you said them...and just like they will be the next time you say them.
Point Blank: If you (not you specifically) use "my life was hard in the ghetto" as an excuse for any aspect of your life, then its the laziness or lack of determination that never led you to overcome the state and condition of the things around you. And if you can't overcome it....then don't complain about it, because a lot of people come from broken homes and get educated and live happy lives. I bet, in every "hood" you look in....they'll be at least 2 people who lived on the same block....one who still lives on that block...or is still in the "hood" because he never got educated, and the other who is out living his/her life to the fullest. The one at home is saying his life was sooo hard, and he was never given an oppurtunity...whereas the otherone was too busy working hard to overcome the toughness that his/her life was. Personal will and desire to succeed and move on in life has nothing to do with where you are born...

Fah crissake, am I going to have to get some statistics???????
I thought this was common knowledge..
LG:
Do you say that, in general, there are more broken families, shootings, crimes, etc in the "ghettos" compared to the 'burbs? (If not, you are disagreeing with solid proof).
And would you say that, in general, coming out of a broken home, losing a friend or two to senseless violence, getting robbed for the new jays you just got, etc. would qualify as a little bit of a tougher life than having everything handed to you?
If you said yes to those you agree with the only proposition I ever made..
This has nothing to do with ppl using the hood as an excuse to fail or w/e shit u said las post..it has to do objectively with the fact that a higher precentage of ppl coming out of the slums will live a harder life than those spawn from Malibu..

The people who lose friends and all that shit you mentioned...make their life a little bit tougher.....not living in the ghetto.
I'm saying that losing friends...and tough lives...happen in Malibu too.
I'm arguing solely against you "people in the ghetto have less of a chance to graduate because they're from broken homes" statement in my last post......stop ignoring stupid points that you make and I counteract by bringing up new points.
Admit that you are wrong in the education area.
Admit that people have hard lifes based on what happen to them....not the house they live in.
If the area they live in has an effect on what happens to them....so be it, but that doesn't give you, or anybody, the right to clasify everyone living in that same neighborhood as having the same situation and living the same hard life.
Also, I don't like your spiteful attitude towards people who live in big houses or nice neighborhoods. I don't understand it either. If you don't like stuck up white folk......thats your opinion, don't bring it into a discussions and use them as sterotypical objects to prove your point. Everyone has tradegy at some point in their life. Money makes some problems easier....it doesn't bring the dead back to life...it doesn't keep parents from divorcing......so, don't ever say that people who have money have no problems......
Everyone has problems...those who have more problems are case specific, its not geographically organized into those with good lives and those who live tough lives.

But the problem is you are completely wrong! Do a google search on graduation rates...tell me if it is higher or lower in highly populated urban areas...This is duh level stuff...I don't have any problems with rich white ppl, all I ever said is they don't generally live as tough of lives. Obviously everyone goes through struggles, but it is a little harder to get robbed when you live in a gated community, u feel me?....do a google search on crime rates...are they higher or lower in highly populated urban environments? How about divorce rates?
I still don't see what your reasoning is here, except that not everyone in the hood has problems, and vice versa. But I acknowledged that as true as soon as you brought it up (i never said everyone in the first place).

BACK TO THE STATE OF HIP HOP
I believe the state of Hip Hip is growing right now. In the underground, a few heads are coming up to the mainstream that are very talented. (Common, Mos Def, Etc.) And even some of the already mainstream heads are doing good stuff for the industry (Kanye West, Jay Z, etc.) by doing something a bit new and creative and bringing positive light onto Hip Hop whether it is by starting up a section of a label for artists who have talent and doesn't base shit off of the first week sales (Jay Z did it for The Roots) or coming out with a more postive and real cd (Kanye West with Late Registration).
And the underground scene is just getting smarter. They are getting more talented and coming in bigger groups. I think that is what makes everyone sounds the same and makes hip hop seem like it's not creative any more. It is harder for a person to make a name for themself if they don't got a catchy song or an anthemn.
Ever wonder why the great lyricists (like Chino XL and Big L) never make it to the radio? Because they are more of an acquired taste. A lot of people don't understand them at first listen so they don't want to hear them again.
Creativity; I think Hip Hop is just as creative as ever. I mean give me a break! When Hip Hop first originated, there was million of possibilties you could do. Many concepts weren't being taken and there wasn't any predecessors. If you were the first, then you were creative. Nowadays, many concepts have been laid down on tracks and the track is always built. Now people have to come creative with lyricism, catchy hooks, and even album ideas. I know technology as advanced and we have a lot more technical aspects of Hip Hop that we can do but the concept of a song is what makes a song great. And nowadays, Hip Hop is the same hustle but people are just more lazy nowadays.
Hustling by no means is easy. It takes instict and being quick on your feet. And more shit along with that. Hip Hop is a hustle. And people are lazy. A lot of people try to hustle but when they fail, they give up. That is what people need to know. When noone is recognizing you, you have to steal some light.
What is the most important aspect about Hip Hop?
Is it your lyrics? Is it your emotion? How about concepts? Are you flowing fast enough? It is none of them... It is your image. And people have to understand that. Your image is everything and you have to know what your image is so you know who to target. If you are a rapper that opened an Extreme Kidnapping Buisness (www.extremekidnapping.com) and is hosting the Lapdance Olympics (www.lapdanceolympics.com) and wear an octupus on your head, you will get noticed no matter how talented you are. That is exactly what Mr. Scrillion aka Adam Thick (www.scrillion.com) did and in all honesty, he sucks as a rapper but he knows the buisness.
If you know how to hustle your image, the shine will follow. If you are devoted and try to break free of "the circle", then you are more likely to be noticed. That is all. (The circle is when somebody is doing concerts and shows, putting out new albums, but isdoing the same thing over and over without gaining any new light or fans)
Just my two cents.
