im kinda slow but i just wanted to add that shit wasnt proven. look back at the history of the romans. if it wasnt for constantine the catholics wouldnt be where they are today. a time has come for things to change, as you can see now even the church is saying the bible isnt 100%. there is no doubt that the catholic religon wont be wiped out and a different one wont take its place. i mean history repeats itself all the time.

band, you only tend to show up for my birthday,,, so here goes.

first of all lots proven exists in the bible. when PROPERLY read, and not left to inferior and biased translations looking for total bullshit.

In the world, past and present, there are two major types of cultures; the Hebrew (or eastern) culture and the Greek (or western) culture. Both of these cultures view their surroundings, lives, and purpose in ways which would seem foreign to the other. With the exception of a few Bedouin nomadic tribes living in the Near East today, the ancient Hebrew culture has disappeared.

What happened to this ancient Hebrew thought and culture? Around 800 BCE, a new culture arose to the north. This new culture began to view the world very much differently than the Hebrews. This culture was the Greeks. Around 200 BCE the Greeks began to move south causing a coming together of the Greek and Hebrew culture. This was a very tumultuous time as the two vastly different cultures collided. Over the following 400 years the battle raged until finally the Greek culture won and virtually eliminated all trace of the ancient Hebrew culture. The Greek culture then in turn influenced all following cultures including the Roman and European cultures, our own American culture and even the modern Hebrew culture in Israel today.

As 20th Century Americans with a strong Greek thought influence, we read the Hebrew Bible as if a 20th Century American had written it. In order to understand the ancient Hebrew culture in which the Tenack was written in, we must examine some of the differences between Hebrew and Greek thought.

Abstract vs. concrete thought
Greek thought views the world through the mind (abstract thought). Ancient Hebrew thought views the world through the senses (concrete thought).

Concrete thought is written to convey expression of concepts and ideas in ways that can be related to in terms of the sense: seen, heard, tasted, smelt, or felt. All five of the senses are used when speaking and hearing and writing and reading the Hebrew language. An example of this can be found in Psalms 1:3; translated:

"And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. "

ALL THE VERSE SAYS IS LITERALLY:

TREE BROUGHT [and] planted (so they can recieve) the WATERS WILL BUD AND COME TO FRUITION IN TIME , This is a leaf that shall not wither (i.e. an undying truth) and a MEANS of PROSPERITY.

In this passage we have concrete words expressing abstract thoughts, such as a tree (one who is upright, righteous, and wise), streams of water (grace and the preservation oflife, through generation), fruit (good character and provision) and a unwithered leaf (truth). The prosperity one enjoys is "Wisdom" and like the fruit of a tree, it is not something you can rush to fruition.

Abstract thought is the expression of concepts and ideas in ways that can not be seen, touched, smelled, tasted or heard. Hebrew never uses abstract thought as English does. Examples of Abstract thought can be found in Psalms 103:8; translated (horribly) as:

†™ ¢‚¬„¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¢†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¡¢‚¬Å¡‚¬†™¢¢¬‚¦‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦¢‚¬Å“The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger, abounding in love†™ ¢‚¬„¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¢†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¡¢‚¬Å¡‚¬?.

There is no way to say this in ancient Hebrew, literally it says in the proto-Hebrew:

"Elohim, have tender affection and make camp for you, [being] it takes them a long time to flare their nostrils and they very large breasts."

These two verses come from completely different kingdoms and both are written before the mandates of the Kingdom of David. One comes from the kingdom of Israel ad te other from Judah. See the difference? One sounds like a promise of hot women who will rub yo feet in heaven make the bed, and give you some lovin without alot of drama...
and the other is a statement summarized as "a wise man is like a tree, and the torah is the water that nourishes him. Even if he is close to the source of the water, it still takes time to grow a seed into a tree."

but neither of these have ANY MENTION of the "God" they are attributed to.

what everyone needs to realize is that ISRAEL and JUDAH were TWO KINGDOMS. and they were both centers of Learning... and before them, there were even "people in the area who had been down the silk road... and beyond.

You can not study ONE religion... for there is no exclusive right to divine thought held by any institution or religion's priesthood, or the many names they use to encompass the infinity of divine love. that was the essential teaching of "Jesus."
