I'd do that except my desktop doesn't have an S-Videp port. Otherwise I would be doing that.
WAI, what do you think of this player? It's Philips, plays DivX, and only $79.99.

Shit, I'd buy 2 of those DVD players if we had a BestBuy here in Oz.. lol
See if any other models in the same price range with DivX have Optical Out for audio, otherwise, go get this one!

Ok my olde player I've had since '02 bought the farm this morning. What I'd like to know is if i buy a DVD with Divx, will it play avi movies i've burned to a data disc?!?

Yup, it should..! Divx, Xvid, and most of the other popular .avi codecs will play on these devices...I haven't come across too many .avi's that used another form of compression to be honest...I imagine that it would handle it the same way the PS3 does...
