*Trigun (definitive Geneon quality.)

*Jin The Bandit (love the theme, has one the best sidekicks in the genre, good flow of dialogue and wordplay)

*ChronoCrusade (Love the theme, love the story, love the critical flaw, involving storyline.) mmm. Hillary Haag's voice. Sister Rosette kills demons, except for Chrono ... the one she has a pact with, that she loves, and therefore can't stand. Her Order regards her as dangerous and a loose cannon. but the deal is when she opens the clock around her neck, the time of her lifespan runs down, and that demon Chrono feeds off her lifeforce and becomes one of the most powerful demons, who slew thousands of his own kind before he was exiled, to earth. Sister Rosette became a demon slayer because her brother was taken by demons, and Chrono's horns (the key to his true demonic powers) were affized to her borther's head - by his oldest ally and most hated enemy. Rosette and chrono are loose cannons, but right now, with hell coming to dominate earth by 1930, the Order needs all the firepower it can muster. cheesecake and brimstone...

Rune Soldier (exactly like Dungeons and Dragons, with a wizard who wants to be a fist fighter joined up with some great female characters. spectacular ending. good storyline, awesome sidequests). Louie is a wizard, whose first instinct is to break his wand over your skull instead of casting a spell. He is going to be the champion of the world. Cheesecake and Dragons.

*D.E.A.R.S. (for the theme song alone!!! warui? a little cutesy for most guys, but I live for great "magic girl" anime. boy in highschool rescues girl, who is part of a race that seeks sanctuary on earth from their cruel masters, who genetically engineered the D.E.A.R.S. to be the perfect servants. I give it five loaves of melon bread.) cheesecake and melonbread.

Sorceror Hunters (most old school people have seen an episode or two. no real strong underlying story.)

*Those Who Hunt Elves (rediculous, some feel for classic anime,.. LOTS of LAUGHTER. among other things, a tank possessed by cat. nuff said.)

*Futshigi Yugi : The Mysterious Play - long series,.. some may be bothered by a major supporting "tsuki bishonen" character (i.e. a boy who wants to be a girl, but the character is one you quickly see the value of, and this series is bar none exactly what the genere of "schoolgirl stuck in mythical past during epic war with real magic" series should be. Strong villians, strong heroes, conflicts between allies that must be overcome, and existential crisis. My heart soars when i watch some episodes. If Inuyasha is a cheeseburger, Futshigi Yugi is a nine course 16oz Prime Rib dinner with a full dessert cart and vintage pinot noir, and a little butter rum cheesecake appetizer.

DNAngel - a little cheesy at times, but the main conflict is great, WHEN they get around to letting the plot develop. allergic to cheesecake.

Robotech : Perfect Collection (including 7 disks of sepcial content, and all 85 episodes if you have endurance)
(some of this is pretty damn hokey, but it was great when i was a kid, and for nostalgia, little tops it.)

Macross (This is the greatest thesis on war as a sign of evolution i have seen. better than any *real* movie on the subject)

*Hellsing - great series, perfect for newbies to anime, quality music, need more series.

Seraphim Cry Victory (may be found under other names.) This is a manga series that predated Neon Genesis Evangalion (which i still am not very fond of. It was revisioned years later as anime, and is not available in english. A global conflict threatens mankind to the brink of existention, and so God sends his angels to fight man to bring them together, so they do not destroy themselves. and those who die in battle against the angels join the angelic ranks and fight against their former human companions, who are in not very big mechanical soldier suits (i.e. non-transformable battlemechs). And for every man who becomes an Angel, an Angel turns against the ranks of Heaven and in some cases, eventually joins the human forces, and slowly becomes more and more human. **you know I love this one** angel cake and battle rations.

Grenadier - if vash the stampede were a buxom blonde who could load her gun with her chest and a twirl, he would be the Grenadier. make sure she continues to smile. her unhappy face is deadly. cheesecake and sixguns and soapsuds

*Najica - Spies / clones created for superiority in combat / short skirts and panty shots / sizzling jazz. cheesecake and martinis.

Maburaho - most people have magick. some more than others. sub-ordinary boy has most powerful magick, in his genes. BUT he can only use his own 8 times (which can do more than most) before he turns to dust. girls from presitigious families compete for the right to bear his child, who will be the most powerul magician ever! cheesecake and the sorceror's stone.

Ultramaniac - witch girl series. my girl loves this stuff. great artwork, bouncy music. suprisingly dark developments in storyline... in a bright and cheerful way. too young to be cheesecake. perv.

R.O.D. - the revolution was televised, but it never happened. so were you.

manga ranga - your family goes to the island where your ancestors come from, the god of the idland is a giant statue. you go back to japan,.. it comes looking for you. the music is excellent , the episodes are short.

*GoDannar (season 1, not yet seen the first disk of season 2) - Go is a robot pilot for Japan each major country has their own team) fighting creatures from space, and loses his lover was his partner. In that fatal battle, he was providing support for the evacuation of the hot doctor's hot daughter Anna (that his little brother has had a crush on all through highschool), and marries her, and goes nuts when she becomes the pilot of his dead lover's battle robot... which combines with his to become one of the most powerful battle robots on this planet. ..and then his dead lover returns, or does she? great music, testoserone abounds, skintight uniforms, Anna is ineffably sexy thanks to Hillary Haag's voice (my favorite anime American voice actress), lesbian over-and-undertones, wonderful action, great artwork, good transation, sound ballistics, firearms, and combat logistics, and pretty deep scientific integrity for a cartoon. I regard this as "speculative fiction for the sophisticated and girlcrazy giant robot crowd." If I had one major gripe it would be the formulaic "launch sequence" and "finishing move" that seldom varies, if ever. don't get me wrong it is superb in every way and soon you will find you self saying "soul,.. BREAKER!!!" when you are stuffing a chicken. but watching the series all the way through it gets redundant. after the 12th time. i love this series because my girl is much younger than me, and we have the same kind of fights that reveal both our love for each other, and our strong personalities that should really make us incompatible, and yet often bring us closer. despite my sentiment. OF ALL THE SERIES HERE, THIS IS THE ONE MOST LIKELY TO BE ENJOYED BY EVERYONE ON THIS FORUM. cheesecake and a giant robot.

lots more, but these come to mind because they are near the front of my media cabinet, due to frequent rewatching.
