When clicking on the slider thing, its best to DRAG the little nob, rather than click to 'where you want it', otherwise yes, it'll skip shitloads and you'll never get what you wanna see, lol

there are also ways to set the actions associated with different keystrokes in the preferences...can set up to FF or rewind with the scroll on the mouse which I find handy

Shit, I think I've had my ultimate media tool on my PC the entire time...through a bit of an error, I discovered that my image program, Irfanview, plays vido too...

Does the fast forward, the rewind, and the seeking that I was looking for...I'm gonna put a link to it in the workshop for sure, this program is the shit..!

Irfanview's video component crashes quite frequently for me, then making it a pain to quit out of.

VLC is certainly cool but it can't handle HD x264 (or Quicktime) content at all. Also its slider bar is jumpy (unless you hold your mouse button on it).

Media player classic is great. The latest version is usually on http:/x264.nl
There is a standalone x264 software decoder that works a treat combined with Media player classic. If anyone watches any x264 encoded content and is interested, I'll try and find the download link.
