Oscar isn't a bad pick I think. He still has many NBA records if I can remember correctly. But Dirk is no where near this list yet. I doubt he will ever come to this list. Sure, he's an outstanding player but not the greatest to play his position

Oscar is solid... but I take Magic over him, I take Stockton over him, and I may even take Isiah Thomas over him. And you are correct, Dirk is a good player, but he will never... EVER... be close to the top of a G.O.A.T. SF or PF list. He is just another scorer... the NBA is riddled with them now. Look at Allen Iverson. Would I take him... sure. But, is he among the top 10 of all time at PG? Hell no. The guy hates to pass. Dirk doesn't hate to pass.... he just doesn't know what a pass is.

lol yall haters...

the thread has turned from "the greatest team of all time"....(i listed mine in the first post)...to a ....build your team....based on who YOU want to play for it....not who should. (the more recent roster)

Well why did you change it then? It should stay as the Greatest of All Time

Everyone knows the greatest......Magic, MJ, Bird, Malone, and well...C is debatable.....

the more intriguing thread is to build your team based on guys you like and think would do well...

For that you could just download the Jumpshot basketball sim software and run the sims.

Greatest Of All Time is right on. Magic, Jordan, Bird, Malone, Chamberlain. So it is said by Ruff.

They got a sim thing that will include all the old and new players?

That'd be pretty sweet...

I'm not exactly sure if Jumpshit does old players or not. But, you could do a XBOX NBA game and run a sim with older players I'd guess. LeBron may take over the SF/PG spot at some point... but not yet. Kobe will never pass MJ.

Where did you guys get the idea that CB was a 4..? They listed him at about 6'5", realistically he's 6'3", 6'4" at the most...

He played the 3...Nobody remembers KJ at the point, Majerle at the 2, and Chuck @ the 3 in Phoenix..?

He could play the 4, cause he was a big ass muscle, and dudes wasn't pushing him around...In his day, Chuck had about a 48" vertical, and nobody got off the floor faster...

As for my picking Dirk, he's an instant mismatch...No four I could think of could out score him and a 7', no 4 I could think of is just going to dominate him...He's a revolutionary player, and before you run off hating on his defense and rebounding, just know only 14 people got more boards per game than him last year...He averaged a block a game, and 1 TO per game...

He's as solid a 4 as anyone I can think of...

Dirk is a weak 4 because he can't guard any other 4. Sure, he can bang them from the outside, but the other teams PF and C will beat his team every time. Dirk is ok, but not even worthy of the MVP now, so greatest of all time is a very big stretch.
