I heard a couple years ago that on a mountain in Turkey (I think it was Turkey) they found remants of wood at the peak. Some said that it was Noah's Ark. If you remember in the Bible, God told Noah to seal both the inside and the outside of the wood. Really, the only reason you'd need to do was if you needed to find it some time later

Iheard about that too. I'm not sure what the outcome of that was. I would be interested to know, but, I also don't think a great flood happened and he only floated a few hundred miles. 40 days and 40 nights and all you could manage was that??? I don't know.

Wow, you guys that troll off topic in this forum...Man, I WILL push the button...Don't believe me..? Try it..! This forum is hallowed ground, keep your trolls, quips, and other off topic bullshit to a status of non existence...This forum isn't for that...If that is too hard for you to do, I am begging you, stay out of here all together...
@ Lightfoot...
In my eyes, each of these topics could very well have its own thread...I think I started a thread about the Ark, which held my imagination for a about a year...I researched it as much as I could, and I believe it to have truly existed...I believe in its power, tho I do not know how it operated...Feel free to read that topic by search this forum, and then bumping it if you want...
I've seen some supposed pieces of Noah's Ark, but I don't need those to know if the the flood happened...It very much did, as there have been found to be fossils of trees that did not have 'death' lines...This is how dinosaurs grew to such enourmous sizes...
Lots of things to be discussed on these subjects lightfoot, man I say start all the topics..!

now that you mention it, i do remember reading about the discovery of something wooden (or something that used to be wooden) on a mountain in the region associated with noah. if my memory's not playing tricks there was talk of the expedition to investigate being postponed due to unrest in the area, and possibly the local government refusing visas. since this was apparently found in the fertile crescent it's likely the current troubles have prevented any subsequent investigation, though i'm pretty sure there were some blurry sattelite images produced.
there's also been talk of discovering evidence of jericho's fallen walls.
this thread wasn't really started to find definitive proof of jesus's existence, or of all the events in the new testament. it's simply a quest for facts, rather than truth: it's possible for the stories to be factually inaccurate but still contain the truth of god. and since the new testament is a detailed description of a relatively short time-frame (and quite different to the old testament) i figured it needed it's own thread. since pontius pilate and herod agripa are both referrenced by historians and official documents of the period it's possible other persons and events are also mentioned. has anyone heard other references?

Does anyone know the outcome of the ark topic? I would be interested in seeing if anything was actually discovered there. And, furthermore, if they were able to somehow carbon date the wood found.

Last I read, there was no wood, so no samples.
The Discovery Channel has a BBC-made documentary of a much more plausible source for the original story of Noah. It's miracle-free.
Noah's Ark- "The True Story" I think it was called.
