Ok basically...yours were A and B, but not A and not A...just because something is ice and water, does not mean it is ice and not ice....You could say it is true because it is ice, but you can't say it's false because it's water (cuz it's still ice)..same with the sex issue..

This statement is only and entirely false doesn't work because in order for it to be true, it has to be false, and vice versa, so it kind of figure 8's between true and false, but never actually establishes itself as either...

@ Raum, I still don't understand your example...

quantum mechanics abound with paradoxes. maybe u can get a concrete example fom there.

let' take for example an electron; an electron is known to be a particle and in fact behaves like one in a number of experiments.

but certain experiments would also coax the electron into behaving like a wave. therefore, now the electron is a wave.

the definitions of a particle and a wave are very different. the electron being a particle cannot be a wave and also the electron being a wave cannot be a particle.

u can also try searching for the: 'double slit experiment', to gain more insight on particle-wave duality.

hope that helps.

also, i remeber the story 'bout a town having only one barber. the statement is: The barber cuts everyone's hair in this town. question is: who cuts the barber's hair? i guess u get the point. (unless, somebody would argue that the barber was very very very long hair. /:D" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt=":D" />)

Yea, I tried the electron thing...we came to the conclusion that it was neither until it was measured...

The barber is an interesting one, but it is a sophisticated example of the this statement is false claim...
