Well, maybe not a rackmount then, but something I can shove underneath a seat and have it be out of the way...I need to invest some time in learning how to set up a wireless home networking system...

I don't know what the status of your file server project is, but I came across something that looks like it would simplify the setup of ssh apache php like WAI was referring to. and did I mention it was also free and open source?

It is a browser-based application, which means you do not have to install any client software on your computer to access your corporate files and servers. In conjunction with an SSL 128 bit encrypted connection you can have secure access to your resources. SSLBridge uses Samba to authenticate with an Active Directory Server, so users do not have to remember a new username and password, all access privileges remain the same in SSLBridge as they do when in the office.

I have the project on hold for a bit with a move pending, but this stuff is good to have for when I finally do kick it into gear...Thanks for all the tips guys...
