I've only watched two episodes and while I like the guy who plays Dexter, the acting just seemed so bad in the two I saw. He'll also always be gay to me since I've only known him from Six Feet Under.

I'd think you two are kidding me, but I believe you guys for the reason that I have not watched Six Feet Under, so I have no idea what you guys are talking, therefore I can't relate.

I wonder if anybody will care now that stage actor, sitcom character John Lithgow is slated to be the upcoming season's resident baddie?

I watched the complete series (up through the season 4 finale) pretty recently after being convinced to finally watch it.

It's pretty solid throughout. It appears there are a lot of people here who are still catching up, so I don't know how worthwhile of a discussion we would get among those who have seen all the seasons...but I'm just curious as to how you guys would rank them, in terms of enjoyment? It would seem we could do that without giving away any spoilers at all :)

I heard a lot about the show from friends so I watched the first 3 seasons over a 3 day weekend. I was hooked. The show is great! The 4th season was the best IMO. I can't wait for the 5th season to start, it's unfortunate that it will be the last for Dexter.

I'm actually starting to get giddy you said this. Where did you hear this will be the last season for the series?
I, too, thought the run of this series should not be drawn out for years upon years, but is the really the last?
