What the fuck..? If I had posted this, Raum and Ayhja would have just completely sidetracked the discussion by obsessing about the true definition/what is meant by love and trust lol...
So since they aren't going to, I will. I am not a lingual king by any means, but I do know that many languages have more than just one word for love. The ones that seem to get the most attention are the four Greek forms, but I know there are many more
The tone of the original post seemed to emphasize romantic love. With respect to this, I think it depends on the person. For example, I have a tendency to forgive too easily. If my girl cheated on me, it is my biggest fear that I would fall into a realm where I wouldn't really trust her but I would still love her, despite my biggest efforts not to. To quote the scholarly movie, Dumb and Dumberer, "I can't help my heart!"
Now as far as other kinds of love go, this can be very different. I think trust and love are not correlated in any significant way when it comes to family. In a song, rapper Brother Ali, after describing how his family and particularly his mom has hurt him by violating his trust and basically selling him out to the police, says explicitly about his mom, "It's not that I don't love you, it's more that I don't trust you."
I'm sure there are different breakdowns of the word trust but I think we will leave it at this for now!
