Doubtful. The whole point of a Thor flick for Marvel is having it all culminate with the Avengers movie. One screenplay was already given the boot as they don't wanna go the Days Of Yore route. Which kinda sux.

Maybe do a backstory joint, flesh it out in the end some kind of way..? The way they portray him in the cartoon is OK, but I don't know if you could stretch that into a movie that didn't make you want to pull your hair...I bet if I read some of those ultimate Thor stories or something, I could work it out... :D

*MOST* DC comics would work better than *MOST* Marvel comics for movies, if they STOP trying to play Marvel's game.

And when is the last time you saw a DC comic movie you hated? Marvel has at least four people feel that way about.

Good point...Some of the Batman movies are pretty unwatchable, but for the most part, DC has had a good if not great run on both the big and small screens...

Stinkers
Batman & Robin
Batman Forever
Superman II (Theatrical cut hasn't held up over time)
Superman III
Superman IV
Swamp Thing

It's a 50/50 split if you check both sides & companies:

Great to Decent
Batman
Batman Returns
Batman Begins
Superman The Movie
The Superman II The Richard Donner Cut
The Dark Knight

Debatable
Superman Returns (Let's be honest, Even though I personally dig it, Most folks love or hate it)
League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen (I think it was dumb popcorn fun but also an love/hate movie)

Still, It's easy to bag on Marvel movies as they are a fuckload more of them out there released in just the last decade.

Marvel Stinkers
The Punisher (1988)
The Punisher (2004)
X-Men 3
Spider-Man 3
Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer
Blade Trinity
Daredevil
Elektra
Ghost Rider

Marvel Great to Decent
Spider-Man
Spider-Man 2
Hulk
Incredible Hulk
X-Men
X-Men 2
Blade
Blade II
Iron Man

Debatable
Fantastic Four (It was a fun movie though I still hate the shoddy treatment of Doc Doom like he was a stepchild)
Punisher War Zone (I think it's meant to be cartoonish violence with this outing)

Some of those Marvel adapted movies were horrible. Ghost Rider was a very intriguing character but they dorked him up HORRIBLY. X-Men 3 was a disaster and completely ruined my perception of the series.

But they have come around as well. The Incredible Hulk was much better than the first movie. Punisher War Zone was much better than The Punisher.

I wouldn't put either of the Hulk movies or the Blade movies in the great to decent list but for the most part I agree with the rest.

Aw c'mon, You can't front on the first Blade! That was what saved comic movies after Batman & Robin almost totally destroyed the benre a year before. And Blade II gets better after gets more than one viewing. The action in that kicks all kinds of butt (except Snipes' lame suplexing of a vamp). Shee-it!, the opening fight sequence with Blade in Prague is one of the best in a comic movie ever.

As for Ghost Rider, I'm still mad cut up about that. He's one of my faves from the books (Both Blaze & Ketch incarnations) . A shame really, as the actual GR fx were great..

I guess it comes down to the genre to me. It's tough to classify movies like Blade and Punisher as Superhero movies even though I know they came from a comic and mix it up with Spiderman and Captain America every so often. Blade is just a horror film for me and I saw them all but just hate the whole vampire thing to death (pun intended). And I haven't seen the new Punisher flick but it falls into more of the revenge/action flicks you see Jet Lee or Statham making. The first two were so terrible they lost me for the third. Hollywood just doesn't get the Punisher.

Ghost Rider was toned down for the kiddies but that is one that should have been horror and I just came out with a popsicle headache. Needed to be darker than Blade really but was silly. I really thought it would be the first time I'd enjoy a horror movie.. Ah well.
