Gonna be hard to beat X-Men First Class. Feige thought he could coast all the way to Avengers without anyone stealing his thunder.

I just noticed I think they put the wings back on Cap's mask? Or are those painted on? Well either way after the X movie it's gonna be tough for anybody to make a team movie to top that.

I think that might be the 3rd suit he puts on for Avengers proper. Truth be told, First Class was the first comic book team movie where all the characters actually acted like a team unit. All the ones that came before were "teams" where everyone split up to do their own thing.

YOu're right. Well they really shoulda just called em "Wolverine featuring the X-Men" anyway. I'm hearing bad bad things about Green Lantern now....how can ya screw up these properties with characters as cool as Thor Green Lantern and Captain America?

Was just looking at that picture again and it struck me how wise it is for the Avengers to have a guy who can shoot arrows and a girl who can do some karate kicks over another Iron Man on the team (War Machine). Brilliant thinking. Alien invasion? Cosmic all powerful entity? Super powered world crushing villain? Pack it in boys! We got arrow guy and judo girl here. Don't even attempt it!

A lot of decisions were half assed impulse ones to generate buzz about forthcoming projects on Marvel's part. Both the studio & publishing arm are clearly run by idiots who believe Hype Will Triumph Over All. I mean c'mon USO performers, Hawkeye, Black Widow, naming the Cosmic Cube a tesseract, getting hacks in on the screenplays. It's a joke.

As for GL, I think it was both a case of Too Many Cooks In The Kitchen & trying to compress 3 movies worth of stories into one. Parrallax should not have even come in until movie #3 ferrchrissakes.

Yeah I weakened and went and checked out GL. I didn't hate it like you but it was definitely rushed. Sinestro may have been the most interesting character and he was in the movie maybe a total of ten minutes. I really hope they get a sequel so we can see the turn of Sinestro but I don't think it'll happen. So it was ok, alot better and more faithful than Thor and not as good as X-Men FC. I was reading an article I can't find again now but will keep looking for it about how GL may have killed off Superhero flicks for a while (other than the ones already greenlighted for next year).

I'll see Cap and hope it'll get me fired up for Avengers but I really as of now think it's going to be a major clusterfuck.
