What I did completly forgot is that my external hd is NTFS format and I need it to be FAT 32 system. So its not like I have enough space on my laptops hd to transfer files on here format it into FAT32 system so I m just thinking what I should do.
Help ?

Get another external hard drive? Format it FAT32? Gparted can format it in FAT32 for you, regardless of the size:

What do you need to use the external drive with the PS3 for? If you already have data on it I assume it's for backup purposes?

Well I have so many movies and series that I had to put them on an external. So every now and then I move all my movies and stuff on my external so my laptop is still running at a good speed and isnt bogged down with data.
Can gparted convert NTSC to FAT32 without data loss? Because there is over 500 gigs of data on there.

No, you cannot convert from NTFS to FAT32.
Moving a lot of data to your laptop isn't going to slow it down. That's an age old myth. ;)

well the problem is I have only 100 gigs space on here. What I may do is move a bit onto my laptop create partitions on my external and then format the partitions to fat32 move all the data on there and then just increase the size of the partition using gparted .

I didn't even think of that. Good idea. It might take a LONG time through USB though.

Well Im not going to move too much data about. Probably create a 50% partition on my external for FAT32 and see how much data I need to move about for that to happen. But yeah I think its a good idea to prevent data loss. Even if I just create 2 partitions of FAT 32
