Re: My Disaster

Sometimes, I even amaze myself...
I wish that I could say for sure what it was that I did...I can only say that whomever created Hiram's Boot CD is a man among boys...
What I forgot to mention is that very fleetingly, my system was booting to a BSOD that said, "Unmountable Boot Volume"...So, once I figured that out, I went to work with the various tools on HBCD to see if I could repair or delete the old Master Boot Record...Something worked, using another partition tool on the HBCD (Which ran a version of Windows XP) I was able to see the partition and all my files...
I am now into my Windows 7 installation, and all of my files appear to be in tact...I am backing up my data now, making a new Windows 7 DVD, and will reformat my drive to make sure its OK...
But all signs point to having a corrupt MBR which fucked up everything...Linux would not see the RAID, no matter which option I tried...GParted, even when I ran a partitioning version of Linux that had RAID capability, didn't work...I also ran something called TestDisk, which claims it had trouble reading some of my cylinders...
If its going to crash, its going to crash, but I think I'm going to backup my stuff and keep playing with Mint to salvage it until I need it...
