Why are there so many Different Religions?

A school of music that studies the rhythm of nature, a school of fashion that studies the elegance of the Universe, a school of design that studies the architecture of the ancients, a school of philosophy that studies the time-tested Truth.

So Fapper...

You posted the cartoon...And just posted the cartoon...Before RAUM laid waste to the simple satire I thought it was, what did you think it meant..? IE, why did you post it in VU..?

I've never post it as a satire, i thought that the strip was clever enough to stand by itself, that's why i give a shit when you moved it.
Unfortunately you moved it back to VU just because Raum told you not because you got the message.

I moved it to the troll section...Because VU is for discussion...It was indeed clever enough to stand on it's own...If there was already a discussion about so many religions...You should have dropped some knowledge on us, cause apparently many of us are too dumb to understand it....I didn't say I didn't get it, I was just like...

"AND.......?"

But, you still didn't answer my question, which makes me wonder...

Well basically, there are a lots of different religions and i think it's has more to do with cultural backgounds than with faith itself.
It's a right for all the humans to believe or not in anything, we all agree with that.
So what's the value of Bible, Talmud or Koran to name the most known?
The Bible claims to be the word of the Lord but why are difference with other litugic texts?
In history there have been enormous efforts (and a lot of blood) to unify the belief of the unfaithful and missbelievers. How can someone say one religion is the original (true, real) way to reach God.

PS: It's not that you are too dumb, it's you all are just dumb and i'm very clever!

Fapper,

What do you mean unfortunately it was moved back here. See, I really appreciate Ayhja moving back a post put in VU when i requested it.

I can also see why he moved it. It had no dialogue. It was an image. Me, I looked at it the way i chose to. It had four parts, and i found them to be completely inherent with the Four Worlds, which are superimposed one upon the other, and map the progress of the Initiate.

As far as religion, I worte my definition of it elsewhere, and described it.

All religions are but facets of a culture that used to exist, and was completely torn asunder. It is the foundation of human existence on this planet. We are all the descendents of refugees from this culture. Its truths and wonders are locked in the very riddles our our tattered history as it is passed down. All religions even state this.

The problem is some religions have some illusion of established authority, almost always as a marriage of religion and government. Look at the Crusades, how come people curse the Christians, not the English Catholics, or the French Mercenaries who served in the Crusades in exchange for pardons for their crimes? Moreover, why not curse the King who commanded (whose about to have a movie on his efforts.) this rag tag army of people who weresoldiering for the Army of the Cross, to escaps death and fellow persecution.

The value of the Bible, Talmud, and Koran is that of doxa; doctrine to unlock to find the truth which dwells in YOU. It is better to meditate on the bible than believe it.

vertical,
raum

What about that cartoon gave you that notion..? I didn't see a cartoon that hinted at that...To me, that cartoon was more of a hint at the point of worship, rathar than the worship itself..IE, Allah, Zeus rather than Muslim Christianity...

The main reason i posted just the cartoon and no further comments was that i didnt intent to give it an interpretation from my twisted point of view, i wanted to see what you all get out of it. I just put the above questions that came up to me by seeing it after you Ayhja asked me twice to tell you.
And i know my idea of that was based in a mix of my own point of view and some knowledge i got about the artist way of thinking who did the cartoon.
So i didnt try to put my interpretation in order to see how you get it without my background, got it?

So...Basically...You posted a picture in a discussion forum...With little to no intention of actually discussing it..?

The intention was to open the views of it without my foolish way of seeing things ruin what could be an intresting discussion before it starts. In other words use the wonderful cartoon as a trigger.
And that, i think, it's an honest way of participation at a discussion.
The only one who come to say something about the hole thing was Raum and i apreciatte that, you've only been here to talk about lateral things.
Look, if the thread is nonsense to you as well for others let it die here or wherever, this is a discussion we could have over msn without bumping this post. So if the hole thing was not a sucessful thread ok, who cares, some other good ones will come.

So, was it your aim to discuss your views or the cartoon itself..? Was it meant for us to discuss our views, or the cartoon itself..?

Point is, there isn't a real good way to ruin a thread...And I'm discussing the subject lateral, because that's how it was brought to me, off beat...So, whenever you want to discuss a subject, especially one as interesting as this one, I'll be right here...
