I have no idea about that. Rasicm still exists today, take it from someone who went to an all black High School and was choked for a dollar, had the shit kicked outta me, etc, just because my Skin was White.

Damn, sorry to hear about that GW...
I remember when I first moved to Mississippi, being in an all black school freaked the fuck outta me..ALL the white children went to private school...There was one white guy whose parents couldn't afford to send him to school, and they made fun of him real bad...
I never did, and took up for him on several occasions...It didn't feel right letting them pick on him, I don't know how people can witness more violent acts and sit and watch the shit...I think it's ignorant as fuck...

My Kanye quote was just the tip of the iceburg..
Every rapper I have listened to (and there's a lot) always has something to say about racism, and they not talking about how glad they are that it is over lol..
It still exists. No doubt. As long as there are people in the world. It will.
If you try to put everyone in a melting pot, you are kidding yourself. There are big differences between the races..it's all about being objective instead of subjective..
Saying, "a lot of blacks are in prison because there are higher crime rates in urban areas, which tend to be populated with larger percentages of blacks" is fine, imo..
Saying, "Blacks make the ghettos dangerous to live in because they so violent" is uncalled for and untrue..

Actually, the most interesting front for the issue of race is distinction in medicine, where they found a medication that greatly improves the heart condition, but only in those of african descent.
Problem is, it is so expensive to make that very few people it would be effective for can afford it, and it is so reliable that it would be infeasible to make financial support available for all who would benefit from it.
Yet, the pharmaceutical companies have recieved strong indications that they will incur legal hardships if they intentionally pursue a racially effective pharmaceutical. This was an *accident* and one that they can not reproduce or reverse engineer to make medicine that might "disadvantage certain ethnicities", which is, in many forward organization's thinking a "hair's breadth from genocide."
So, the HORRIBLE irony is that in the next few years, if you know someone black who dies of a heart attack (my condolences, I just lost someone dear to me for this exact thing), it is likely because there is no money in making their medicine, and the pharmaceutical companies can't try and come up with a "white", "asian" (etc.) counterpart to make production of their "black" medicine meaningful, in a business sense.
This front of racism is far more interesting to me, and will have a huge impact on the future of medical law, and perhaps pharmaceutical production and testing, and who knows what else?

Unfortunatelly as long as humans are humans racism will still exist. Maybe in the US has gotten better since the 1800's, but sadly it will never dissapear. Neo-nazis, KKK, muslim extremists, Israeli extremists and much more still exist and will not go away. It's not even about white/black racism, it's far more extensive than that. Latin American countries for example have their own kind of racism like who is from European descent and who has indigenous roots. Sunni and Shiite muslims seem to hate each other as well. Tutsis and Hutus, Serbs and Croats, the list is endless...

Good point bd55...Since black and white has the traditionally nasty roots here in the U.S. it is easy for us to forget how bad some other races have it...I was talking to one of my Asian American M8's and he was telling me how bad off the stereotypes and such were for him...Each of course has its own negative and positive, but for the most part, its ignorance, and thus bad news..

First:
Racism was always justified about race but technically we come from the african homosapiens, it's not true that the european saxons ethnics come from the man of neanderthal. Since they couldnt make it in the evolution in fact when the two branches met the evolved homosapiens took over the homoneanderthalensis who were about anyway to dissapear, meanwhile the homoerectus evoled too little into the man of beijing (or man of china) who also failed in survive too.
The difference beetween the races we see today came after that.
Now:
The black-white racism has always stood in the ignorance but moslty by the difference in technology (or power), as it happened in the new world and asia as well. Explanations to justify racism always been weak.
On Religion (kind of offtopic):
I poorly remember that one of No†™ ¢‚¬„¢¢‚¬ ¢¢¬¢ž¢†™¢¢¬…¡¢‚¬Å¡‚© (Noah?) sons or grandsons (X) was sent out by his father (Y) (who in one night of alcohol) lied naked in his tent and this son or grandson (X) saw his father naked. X was sent to Africa.
I know this has little to do with the subject and it's worst transcribed by me (if someone knows the correct story ... please, i'll be thankful), but still i always found that intresting in the way a stupid mind could read that as 'africans are damned in the bible'
So:
Racism is still among and inside us, blame it to education/culture/fears/whatever, since generalization is one of the shortcut our minds uses to avoid thinking or justify our faults.
IMO
* Sorry for my rusty english which makes even more harsh to read my written thoughts.
