If the Lakers don't have any injuries, and Kobe vs Phil II is a sleeper, then the Lakers are almost guaranteed a playoff spot Homez...

All Mike needed was Scottie Pippen...Lakers got Kobe and Odom...And contrary to popular belief, the Lakers team does not suck that bad...They embrace the triangle, and they will win...Period...

Kobe isn't Mike, I'll give you that, but on what merit..? Physically, the similarities are there...Skill wise, Kobe is complete...His mind isn't on some '88 Michael Jordan beast shit, but he ain't far off...He can do the things Mike can...That is my point...Kobe Bryant is a 3 time world champion NBA veteran at 26 years old...Mike was 28 when he got his 1st...

Marinate on that...

Now...Lamar can do the things Pippen could, at the very least...Please tell me you'd know who Scottie Pippen was if he wasn't on a team right next to Mike damn near his whole career....Talk about all those great numbers he put up, without Mike around...

I'd give you that Odom is near Pippen but the Lakers are no where near the caliber that the Bulls were when they won every Championship. They also had perimeter guys like Kerr, rebound hog in Rodman, and the list goes on. The Lakers aren't close

Yeah...Kobe has 3 rings before MJ got one...and even though it pains me to say it....I dont think Kobe's ever gonna get another one.

MJ is the greatest to ever play the game...no one is ever gonna touch that.

Kobe is great as well, he'll be in the HOF....but he's just not as good as MJ.

Pippen, regardless of who he played with, has been named one of the 50 greatest players of all time, and will (hopefully) be in the HOF.....Odom hasn't got a chance of either.

The Lakers are also missing the great 3-point shooting that helped the Bulls.

And they have no feesible big man to grab the boards, whereas we all know about Mr. Rodman.

There's no comparsion.

Damn, I don't know if I'm writing my posts in Portuguese by accident or what...But...Guys...Nobody is saying that Kobe is as great as Mike...I was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, I am a Bulls fan forever...I know the beast that is Michael Jordan...He is the greatest ever, no denying that...

But both of you would tell me that Mike is THAT much better than Kobe that Kobe can't win no more..? Both of you are going to tell me that EVERY team that wins the NBA championship has a Michael Jordan and a Scottie Pippen on it..?

I said Mike and Kobe are SIMILAR PLAYERS, omfg, I can't believe I keep having to say this...The triangle that Phil Jackson runs will be as good if not better than the one that they ran in Chicago...There are players on that Bulls team that didn't do SHIT the minute they got out of the system, Scottie Pippen included...

I don't see why that fact is being neglected here...You guys are acting like Kobe can't average 30 points a game or some shit, this is crazy...YES, Mike was a beast, but Mike played within a system that allowed him to be that beast...He had Scottie to take up the slack, and a TON of role players...

Lamar Odom, despite whatever you think of him...is a lazy, unmotivated player, who at best IS only a role player.

Bulls had "TONS of roleplayers"...on top of the greatest player to ever play the game...and Pippen, and Rodom, and Kerr, and Paxon.

Lakers have Kobe.

You act like Kobe and Phil have never run the triangle before....They did, and they were successful because they had the most dominate player in basketball..the best current player in basketball...the best coach...and tons of great roleplayers..... now they just got Kobe...and every other team in the league is getting better and better every year.

Kobe isn't gonna win it by himself. He can't beat the Rockets...Spurs...T'Wolves..Mavericks..Kings..Nuggets...Suns....the list can go on and on. Kobe is a great player...he can't do it by himself, and he has NO help.

Chucky Atkins can hit 3's I guess. In his career his is 659 for 1776 (.371).

Steve Kerr was 726 for 1,599 (.466)

But....Chucky Atkins is now on the Wizards.
