My dear Niners need help pretty much everywhere. Linebacker, relatively speaking, isn't one of them - of course Peterson could bolt (I think he's still a franchise player only) which might change things a bit. The DL doesn't have playmakers outside of the ageless Bryant Young, who nevertheless aint getting any younger. And it really helps to have a stud immovable NT if you are playing 3-4. I don't know whether there's such a DT in the draft - maybe the guy from Oregon but I dunno. The secondary is truly crap - injuries didn't help, but even no 1 CB Ahmed Plummer is overrated imho.
Offensively, the backfield is kind of okay with Gore, Hicks and the overpaid Barlow. Sure Lendale White would be nice - I think he'll make a very good NFL RB, but there are other huge needs at WR and TE (if Eric Johnson remains as injury prone as he has). I mean, check out the 49ers receivers - Brandon Lloyd, Arnaz Battle, Rashaun Woods (remember that 1st rounder)? The guys at the top of the depth chart are at best no 2 WRs, probably no 3s on a decent team.
Which leads back to the same old conundrum: team need or best player available?

Depends on how good that player is and how wide your holes are in the depth chart...... depending on who's still availabe....they need to fill holes elsewhere before getting a running back...... AP is coming out soon....so they can fill needs here and then pick up AP..
