If I fell to another planet from an advanced civilization, the girl I fall for would absolutely have at least a C cup...

So it opened here on Thursday and I just got back from seeing it this morning in regular old 2D. I think I know now why they used 3D in post production: As a distraction. It was fun & ok. It tried to be too manys things at once & couldn't settle on a primary feel or tone. The score was annoying as hell. Loki & some of Thor's crew stole the spotlight from under him IMHO. I wouldn't place it in the Top 20 comic book adaptations, but, if you guys have the time to kill, I say go see it. In 2D.

The UK gets it next week, then you guys the week after that. Since the original Iron Man film, we normally get it one week before the US, but getting it 2 weeks before tells me Marvel Studios don't have much confidence in their films so they release it to the international audiences first to gauge their reactions & reviews before giving it a local release.

I don't think being stranded in New Mexico for a few days was long enough to teach anyone humility. Much less a long-lived thunder god. Jane Foster is now an astrophysicist? WTF? What he sees in her over a weekend & not the badass Lady Sif who's all that & a bag of steaks is beyond me. There is a slight snarky nod towards Donald Blake, but that's all. Seeing the Destroyer wrecking a bumfuck little town seemed wrong. Had this been set in a more populous urban area, I think the danger he presented would have been more visceral. Asgard came off as a cold sterile inhospitable place where immortal aliens don't have much of anything to do to pass their long lifespans away. Heimdall seems to be the only busy beaver other than the scheming Loki. Ah well,Let's hope X-Men First Class & Captain America are better outings.

Nice review and you didn't spoil anything seeing Marvel has been leaking the story for 9 months anyway. Still pissed at the Don Blake thing. You know the only reason they did that is so they didn't have to have their "star" off camera for long periods of time. Thor without Blake....it's like Superman without Kent.
