How can you not think Parcells is a genius..? He builds teams and then he leaves, but don't think it's a coincidence...The Dolphins are essentially the same team, and they're competing this year...I think Sparano is a big reason for that...

Is there anyone who doesn't think Big Bill is a genius. Look at the Cowboys, just like the Patriots and Jets within two years of his departure the teams fall apart. The Dolphins will be a top 5 team next year.

Yes BP is a great coach/teacher, and he's one of the best at motivation and talent evaluation, but Miami is not going to be a top 5 team next year. And yes he did make the fins respectable, but their talent pool is still second tier at best.

Ronnie Brown still only shows flashes, look at his numbers, almost all his TD's came in that crazy first game against DL's Pats (sorry DL). Hardly a guy you can count on to carry a team from the RB position. Then there's Chad Pennington. Not exactly elite QB status their either. While I think you can do much worse, say Rex Grossman or Tavaris Jackson, he's not a game changer.

That said, let's look at Bill. When was the last time he coached a playoff winner? Any of those "great" Dallas teams? Nope. You have to go back to his days with the Pats and Jets to see any real success in the playoffs. And even then he really only had the one really solid playoff run w/ Bledsoe and the Pats when they got to the Superbowl.

If the Dolphins do make some noise in the playoffs this year, I'd give more credit to Tony Sparano. While Parcells put the pieces in place, Pennington, Sparano, and even Rickey Williams, Sparano got them to work together.

Yeah, shrug, 'what have you done for me lately'.
Tom Flores won 2 Superbowls too, is he a genius?

Hmmm, Could the Cardinals upset the Giants on Sunday

The Cards really could do it. I think the game is going to come down to turnovers and defense. Both offenses are potent and nearly identical with production. I think I'll give the edge to the Giants D, but it's gonna be one helluva game

Indeed...I don't like it...Close games like that are usually good games, the sudden death in the NFL somehow seems like a cop out...That was a big win for the Jets true enough, but...Changing of the guard..? You mean, you get took to the wire by the replacements and now you're the team to beat..? That's laughable indeed...

But with that said, I don't like ties either

I don't understand what that says at all. Yeah, a team that wins the coin flip in OT may pull out the win, but it puts an emphasis on the defense that needs to be played also. I don't understand what he's saying

The problem with the coin toss is that its not fair...You leave too much shit up to chance, let alone the fact that there could be busted calls, or other questionable occurrences to have impacted the...We don't need to add a coin toss into the mix...It's not fair that one side have emphasis on defense and not have to play both ways...There's no way to ensure that the best team will win in any game, but if both teams play hard enough to win and end up tied, it must be a shitty feeling to loose when a guy gets 2 first downs and kicks a field goal...

College has it right, in fact, every level of football has it right except the pros...

Yeah. Home team should get the ball first in overtime and after 5 minutes of play whatever the score is that's ballgame. Unless still tied and then they do it again and again until a winner with each side getting the ball first who didn't get it first the previous OT period.

Too simplistic though I suppose right? :p
