Garth Franklin at
Dark Horizons can't post a review yet, but he did say that the movie was a masterpiece.

"
My friends -- my Batman brethren -- it’s a classic. I was flat-out speechless during the entire closing credits and I wasn’t the only one who lost their capacity to talk.
Props to ALL involved. But I've got to give out a "Hell Yeah!" to Jonah Nolan, David Goyer, and Chris Nolan for writing one HELL of a story and script.
My review is forthcoming, so stay tuned. But I will say that THE DARK KNIGHT moved me -- as a Batman fan -- in a way that I’ve never experienced in my life.
My eyes welled up and y’all can laugh if you want. But your’s will too very soon…"- Jett
-Thanks go to the original posters!
A consistent theme among the reviews is at the very least a posthumous Oscar nomination for Ledger. More than one or two of the reviews consider the film comparable to Heat in its hard-boiled action. Did I mention July 18th can't come soon enough? :D

I have no doubt that TDK will be a powerful film. I even believe World Youth Day/Week (Jul 17-22) here in Sydney will have smaller attendance than the organizers expect as advance tickets here for TDK sell the fuck out at a rapid rate. it opens here on the 16th. plus a lot of the big cinema chains are having Batman Begins/TDK double features goin' that weekend.

This all sounds great! I'm stoked! And I'm not one to EVER use the word stoked! Here's a story on Leger run by the AP on Yahoo. Not sure if it goes right to it but click on his pic on the right and it'll take ya there.
In it you get a glimpse at how Harvey becomes Two-Face. Don't blink though!

Let's add another, shall we? This is yet another one that invokes the word "masterpiece".
http://www.firstshowing.net/2008/07/01/ ... evolution/
"Not since Lord of the Rings: Return of the King five years ago in December of 2003, did I walk out of the theater so moved, so amazed, and so extraordinarily impacted by the movie I had just watched."
-Funny, b/c LOTR: ROTK was the last movie I saw in the theater that absolutely blew me away and it has since become my favorite movie of all time - neck and neck with The Godfather.
I'm getting giddy...

Well....no offense Ne0....I love ya man but I hope this isn't anything like those LoTR's movies. Those movies are a cure for insomnia for me. I think I'm a minority of one on that but man were those movies boring. Maybe if I grew up reading the books I'd like em more.

None taken, dark! :) I realize they're not for everybody.. but I love my movies long, epic, and visually stunning. I'm sure TDK will be a completely different type of epic though.

Not to take a single thing away from TDK (as i'm still mega pumped to see it) , but am I the Only one who thinks Hellboy II will outdo it for sheer enjoyability factor & story?!? As much as I Love Memento & The Prestige & dig Batman Begins, I think Del Toro is a vastly superior filmmaker than Nolan. I mean check the resume: Cronos,Mimic,Devil's Backbone,Blade II,Hellboy & the Magnum Opus that is Pan's Labyrinth.I mean dayum!,All of those are brilliant. Batman Begins had more than a few flaws & Nolan's Insomnia blew gigantic elephant balls..

Just out of curiosity Jig, what issues did you have with Batman Begins..? Considering what the franchise was prior to, I found it hard to find fault in it, lol...
