QUOTE(Aemeth)It would be some shit if it was true tho, eh?
Raum, what are your thoughts on Judas being the closest to Jesus as opposed to the one who *betrayed* him?
If I told you the oldest stories of Calmus and Origen, it is written that he who is only remembered as Judah (along with Joseph of Aramathea) was giving Jesus to the Roman to be held SECURELY, because others had plotted to serve him death for the heresies he began to espouse about the holiness of the Jews being not limited to the twelve tribes of Israel. The reason is simple, many others wished for their campaign to join the resistance forces which armed themselves against Roman occupation. is that true? well, its older than the rewrite of the Gospels,.. but is it true.
there must have been some truth, because the opposition to Origen took up the thought "that jesus was betrayed of judah because he failed to overthrow Rome."
simple,.. even in the perversion of translation of the gospels in the modern bible still rings true:
One of his disciples was awake when all the others slept.
One kissed him in fraternity before he was led away.
One called him Master.
One of his disciples was dead and in sheol when jeshua conquers hell and death.
others say,
Judah did not know he was delivering him to death. Death was not the punishment for the crime Jeshua would be tried for. It's why Jeshua said "when they come for me, they will kill me." and his disciples disbelieved constantly, and he did not reveal this until late in the gospels,.. long after Judah was gone.
but just as easily... one could develop lots of other scenarios... and all of them are equally speculative.
