Chief's Green Likely To Miss Two Games
A source close to Trent Green told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that the Chiefs quarterback will likely miss at least the team's next two games due to a concussion.
A CT scan and MRI were both negative, but Green remains hospitalized. Green likely will be released on Tuesday.
Green sustained a "very, very severe concussion" when his head was slammed into the ground by Cincinnati's Robert Geathers.
"He's feeling much better," Chiefs president Carl Peterson said Monday. "But he has a very king-sized headache. Hopefully he'll be able to go home tomorrow."
The two-time Pro bowl quarterback will be listed as questionable this week at Denver. Peterson said he didn't know when Green might return.

Packers Trade RB Gado To Texans
GREEN BAY, WI -- The Green Bay Packers traded running back Samkon Gado to the Houston Texans on Wednesday for another young running back, Vernand Morency.
The Texans have been looking for reinforcements at running back since Domanick Davis, the franchise's leading rusher, was placed on the injured reserve two weeks ago. Houston claimed 1999 Heisman Trophy Winner Ron Dayne off waivers after he was released by Denver last week.
Gado, in his second-season, was one of the few bright spots in the Packers' 4-12 season last year, advancing from the practice squad to become the team's starting running back near the end of the season. But Gado has struggled to adjust to the zone-blocking scheme being run by new Packers coach Mike McCarthy -- interesting to note since Kubiak employs a similar scheme.
Season-ending injuries to running backs Ahman Green and Najeh Davenport gave Gado, who started just two games in four seasons at Division I-AA Liberty University, an improbable chance to start for the Packers last year.
In eight games, including five starts, he gained 582 yards on 143 carries and scored six touchdowns.

Samkon Gado will start out as the No. 3 tailback in Houston. Gado won't be challenging for a starting spot right away but he could wind up being a key part of the Texans' running back rotation. One way to look at the deal is a vote of confidence for Ron Dayne, who moves up the depth chart. Wali Lundy remains the starter.
Vernand Morency is expected to be used on third downs in Green Bay. Passing downs are the former third-round pick's forte. Ahman Green was in on nearly all downs during the opener, and Morency is expected to lessen Green's load as soon as he picks up the offense.

Clinton Portis Misses Practice, Expected to Play Sunday
ASHBURN, Va --No dress-up again Thursday for Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis, who did not practice but remains confident he'll play Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys.
"As far as I know I'm playing," Portis said. "Unless something changes between now and Sunday."
Portis carried 10 times for 39 yards in a relief role in Monday night's 19-16 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Leading up to the game, he indicated he would not play because he was still recovering from a partially dislocated left shoulder.
This week, the shoulder is sore from the contact against the Vikings. Portis took part in a portion of Wednesday's practice and worked Thursday on strength and conditioning.
"I'm real sore," Portis said. "I'm just trying to stay on top of things, trying to build the strength up to where it stays the same so we don't have any setbacks."
The injury is keeping Portis from resuming his weekly tradition of appearing in a costume. On Thursday he wore a towel on his head and a T-shirt depicting many of the characters he portrayed last year.
"I've got stuff to worry about besides finding a costume right now," he said.
Portis is listed as questionable on the injury report, the same as he was this time last week.

Panthers Continue To Wait On Smith
CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Steve Smith sat out another practice for the Carolina Panthers on Thursday with a strained right hamstring.
The All-Pro receiver, who missed the Panthers' season-opening loss to Atlanta, has been out since Sept. 5. He remained questionable for Sunday's game at Minnesota.
Smith, who led the NFL in receiving last season, missed more than two weeks of training camp with a strained left hamstring and another week with an ingrown toenail.
If Smith can't play Sunday, Drew Carter is expected to start against the Vikings.

Robert Gallery (calf) will be out at least two-to-three weeks. Oakland's left tackle wasn't successful in halting San Diego's pass rush in Week 1 and replacement Chad Slaughter isn't likely to fare much better versus the Ravens this Sunday. It's terrible news for all Raiders skill players and a team that was embarrassed late Monday night.

ESPN reports Reggie Bush received over $100,000 in gifts during his stay at the University of Southern California.
ESPN TV - ESPN sources Yahoo in its report. Bush's NFL eligibility shouldn't be affected, though it might cost him his Heisman trophy. He's still a great RB2 start in PPR leagues against Green Bay.

Gibbs Says Portis Will Not Play Sunday
ASHBURN, VA --Washington Redskins coach Joe Gibbs ruled Clinton Portis out for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, an announcement that surprised Portis and created yet another twist in the running back's injury saga.
"He didn't practice today. ... If a guy doesn't practice, he's not going to play," Gibbs said.
Gibbs said Ladell Betts, T.J. Duckett and Rock Cartwright will be the running backs against the Cowboys. Portis was downgraded from questionable to doubtful on the injury report, with Gibbs citing the pounding Portis took in the Monday night season opener against Minnesota.
"It's really just because of soreness," Gibbs said. "Actually, it's in a different spot in his shoulder. He's got some soreness there that lingered and kept him from practicing this week."
"I thought it was a game-time decision," he said. "As of now, my bag's packed and ready to go to Dallas, unless they come and tap me on the shoulder in the near future and tell me I ain't going."

Manning, Harrison Reaches Milestones In Sunday's Game
INDIANAPOLIS --Peyton Manning broke John Unitas' franchise record for completions during the first quarter of Sunday's game against Houston.
Manning set the mark with 8:17 left in the first quarter when he threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Joseph Addai. The third completion of the game gave Manning 2,797 career completions in 130 games. Unitas had 2,796 in 206 career games with the Colts.
Manning is second on the Colts' career list behind Unitas in attempts, yardage, touchdowns and games played by a quarterback.
In the third quarter, Marvin Harrison moved into fifth place on the career receptions list by catching a 15-yard pass from Manning. With his 941st catch, Harrison passed Art Monk (940).
Harrison entered the game with 936 career receptions, caught two early passes and wasted little time in hauling in three more early in the second half.
Next on the list for Harrison is Andre Reed, who had 951 catches. Later this season, Harrison hopes to become the fourth receiver in league history with 1,000 catches.
