I lost the count (I can't follow where the counting is, right now /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> )so I'll be slightly off topic:

QUOTE(Mr. SM @ Dec 4 2006, 09:49 AM) The following numerical prefixes are from the Greek language:

1. mono
2. di
3. tri
4. tetra
5. penta
6. hexa
7. hepta
8. octa
9. ennea
10. deca
11. hendeca
12. dodeca
13. triskaideka
20. icosa
21. icosihena
30. triconta
40. tetraconta
50. pentaconta
60. hexaconta
70. heptaconta
80. octaconta
90. enneaconta
100. hecta
1000. chilia (ch pronounced /k/ in English)
10,000. myria

Mr. SM, I didn't know that anybody bothered to learn these things /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Well done /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Just for the record, there's nothing above dodeca that can be pronnounced in one word. Anything above dwdeka (and except 20,30...100, 200... 1000) can only be called with 2 words.

Now, also for 100, I don't recall (as in, in ancient Greek because in modern there certainly isn't such a word) any word like "hecta". The word you're looking for is probably "hecato" or "hecatosto" (which would be the equivalent for "centi" in centimeter /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> )

16 was next - and a reference to the movie sixteen candles would have been easy since I just referenced a birthday celebration (a Quincea‚±era). Obviously I've now covered 16... so if all y'all could learn to stay on topic, things would be easier.... /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

My housemate is 22 years old, which makes her one year older than my 21 year old sister, and 1 year younger than 23 year old me.

I'll take that for both 22 and 23....

but here is the question pete, is your housemate female? if so, does she, or your sister, or both, want to come over and watch some TV with me? I'll put on the first season of 24... and see if we are still watching the TV by the time the dvd hits the end... if ya know what i mean...
