Re: Captain America
Regarding Bucky:
In the original he was a 16 year old orphan to Steve Rogers 20 years old. BUT he wore a uniform and practiced military protocol.
In some rewrites, and some writers who never did enough homework, Cap and Bucky mentioned and alluded to a strong friendship from when they were kids.
but I was wrong, with the exception of the Ultimate Captain America, where the Steve was the scrawny kid Bucky was always protecting from Bullies.

SDCC: Torchwood Star Up for Captain America?
Source: Silas Lesnick
July 24, 2008
John Barrowman, the star of "Torchwood," was just asked moments ago at the San Diego Comic-Con panel if there was any possibility that he would be playing Captain America in the upcoming feature film.
He smiled and gave the stock answer that he'd love to play the character and that Captain America has always been his favorite comic book superhero. Clearly, though, the notion did not take him by surprise and he ended up admitting there had been discussions with his agents and meetings on that very issue.
What do you think? Though maybe not the star-power that the studio might be looking for, Barrowman certainly fits the bill. We'll bring you more news as it develops.
The First Avenger: Captain America is currently scheduled for a May 6, 2011 release

Well....the dude is really gay in real life...and of course there's nothing wrong with that...but I guess I'd rather have Captain America checking out Scarlett Witch's ass as opposed to Thor's.

Don't care for Barrowman but I'll accept him over the ghastly rumor that producers are looking at Leonardo DeCaprio to sully the image of the star-spangled Avenger.
McConaughey, DeCaprio - Who's next? Corey Haim?

Re: Captain America
Call me what you want, but that just ruined it for me...After I found out Magneto was gay, I think my respect for X-Men went down like 5 notches...I'm not going to say nothing is wrong with it, if you're a man I just don't see how you find ANY man sexier than say, the first Jessica that comes to your mind when you think of actresses and what not...I will say I won't hold it against them, but...For lack of a better word...darklighter1 wrote:Well....the dude is really gay in real life...and of course there's nothing wrong with that...but I guess I'd rather have Captain America checking out Scarlett Witch's ass as opposed to Thor's.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!! Well I really didn't mean to sound like a bigot on that one cause I really don't mind what one guy is doing to another in the privacy of his own home I guess it just amounts to alllllll the press it would get if Captain America was cast and it was a gay dude. It would become THE story instead of the character himself. So I guess it would make the movie bigger in that the gay community would come out (no pun intended) to support it but I don't think that's the way to promote a Cap movie. Like I said if it was a Alpha Flight movie and it had that Northwind gay character then that would be cool but this is Captain America. PLEASE Marvel keep looking!
