There is a proof for e=mc^2. Do you know it? I doubt it, but does that mean it doesn't exist? No it doesn't.

Same logic

I know the proof for E=MC‚², it is uh, proven in the theory of general relativity (fascinating read, btw) which is what that whole formula was based on...Einstein didn't come right out and say, "Hey guys, energy is the same thing as mass..!" He wrote out the theory of relativity and explained it...He cited reasons for both the existance of mass and energy and why they are the same, etc..

Saying, "Hey, there is a universal right and wrong," but then not offering any proof WHATSOEVER, except to say, "Well it exists, but...I'm not God so I don't know..."

(pssstt..! That means...It don't exist..!)

There isn't anything logic about that Son, c'mon now...

No, what it means is that he knows that it exists, he just doesn't know everything about. There is a universal right and wrong. How else can you explain the feeling deep inside of you to help others or to do something? God set up the universal right or wrong.

Having a gut feeling to act, doesn't equate to right and wrong...Or else you give valid excuse to everyone that says, "God told me to murder that family," and you say to yourself, "Man, that's wrong..."

What you drop should at least attempt to cover all sides...

If God set us up a universal right or wrong...The it would be blatantly obvious...We are creatures of free will, are we not..? How can you govern a being of free will without strict and blatant punishment of rules..? If there were rules in place, and they are enforced..........

What are they..? If you wanted, you can denounce God right where you are, and set up a slew of pagan temples to 100 different Gods, and do human sacrifice until you got caught...

Under universal right and wrong, we are all doomed...It is all relative if you ask me, my making the rules I follow have to be the same to you, is to deny the very thing that God gave us that no other creature possesses...

We're not all doomed under universal right and wrong. It's very easy to achieve (will talk about later in the post).

Us being creatures of free will is up in the air (refer to the free will thread). Universal right and wrong is like the law....you don't have to do it, but you'll get in trouble if you don't. It may not seem like you will, but you will. You can be governed and will have free will without strict punishments. You will have rules, but everything has rules to it.

Just because someone says God told them to kill their family or whatever, doesn't mean that God really told them that. People lie all the time. It may be hard for us to judge the truth but God can.

God set up universal right and wrong for us to live by. Sometimes we can't do it on our own and that's when we need to ask Him for help. That is the way you can achieve this unversal right and wrong.

thats a good point but still havnt sed what universal rights and wrongs are ............

Of cousre if u say that an example ............ totally fictitious ........... man is not allowed to kill lets say chickens ............ and this man is stuck in a place called the chicklands where the only food is chicken ......but according to god that is a huge crime .............. the so called universal wrong ........... so wat will this man do .............starve to death ........ kill the chicken or pray to god fo him to magically bring something b4 him which is not "universally wrong" to eat and kill ................... either way ur concept of universal rights and wrongs would be a complete disaster ...... coz no where in the world you wud find the same things .... not the same climate not the same vegetation ............so tell me how can the rules fo rights and wrongs be the same for everyone in the world .........at every step of the way someone wud be doing something which wud be universally wrong but that man cud do nothin about it

Well, I also believe that God looks at motives. That may totally contradict what I just said, but I think that the motives are very important. Like if a father stole some corn from a farm to feed his starving family, I don't think that God will look down upon that.

You're right, it does totally contradict what you said, LoL...If there are exceptions to rules, then...They aren't rules...

QUOTE(trashtalkr)Universal right and wrong is like the law....you don't have to do it, but you'll get in trouble if you don't. It may not seem like you will, but you will. You can be governed and will have free will without strict punishments. You will have rules, but everything has rules to it.

Here is where you will run into trouble each and every time, aside from the argument that Deepak presented...

Whose \"trouble\" will I be in..? Who is governing me..?

Free will...Is free will...A man in prison does not have free will...He is constricted...Constriction and CONFLICTION are not the same thing...If I wanted, I could shut down this PC and never turn it on again...That is my free will...But as it conflicts with me, I will not...

That is not a rule...I will not be punished if I up and leave the site for good, even though I helped start it and ask people to come here...That is my free will...But I wouldn't do that, because that is my conflict...Motives are very much a part of cognition, the primary architect of free will...

And as Deepak said

QUOTE(trashtalkr)God set up universal right and wrong for us to live by.

This has still not, and cannot be proven...
