I think they should have just filmed Geoff John's Secret Origin for a movie that short & left the other stuffhit for the sequels. The thing came across like it was made for those suffering ADD.
Sinestro may have been the most interesting character and he was in the movie maybe a total of ten minutes. I really hope they get a sequel so we can see the turn of Sinestro but I don't think it'll happen.
I was reading an article I can't find again now but will keep looking for it about how GL may have killed off Superhero flicks for a while (other than the ones already greenlighted for next year).
I've been reading similar articles. I think Warners shot themselves in both feet as far as building a JLA franchise though by GL bombing. No Flash or Hawkman movies or Justice League that ties them all together..
I'll see Cap and hope it'll get me fired up for Avengers but I really as of now think it's going to be a major clusterfuck.
Maybe it won't be. USO thingie aside, It looks like a streamlined origin story. That newest trailer I posted last week has me more optimistic.

The problem with doing Johns' origin story is EXACTLY what you said and why they couldn't do it. The average viewer today just has ADD and would be snoozing through the thing. As it is I read in review after review how people were complaining it started off great then an hour of talk talk talk and the final action scene. I couldn't believe it when I saw it, it had too much action going on and not enough characterization. Hector Hamonds was pointless, but with him in the film they shoulda just used him or Parrallax but not both. And yeah Sinestro just getting the ring was goofy. They jump basically right to the end with him being full on bad. The next movie shoulda shown Jordan go to his planet and see how he's running shit and getttin him drummed outa the Core. Then you have a reason for the Ring and his all out desire to rip Jordan a new one. Don't know how it's gonna go now. Apparently WB DID option a sequel though.....

What can I say,I'm angry at Marvel for screwing an awesome character in 2 different mediums no less. Hawkeye shouldn't even be in there when it sounds like they haven't even fleshed out Cap & a complex character like The Widow is definitely reduced to one dimensional eye candy.

Yeah it was all way too rushed to be decent anyway so I'm expecting it to be pretty low quality. Man the only thing I like about Haweye is his costume was badass compared to Green Arrow. Without that he's just another guy with a bow.

Well the Hulk actually looks like the Hulk and not a big green male model like last time anyway.

Indeed! He looks like either Jack Kirby's Hulk or the Planet Hulk incarnation.
