I don't really like talking on the phone.... I suppose when it goes quiet, say that is IS really quiet. "Hmmm, it's really nice and peaceful here, sounds like it is also like that at your place." Or you could ask her why it is so quiet at her place, or afterwards say "Gee it's really quiet, wanna make it noisy?" I dunno, try 'em and see what happens.
