Are we alone?

A school of music that studies the rhythm of nature, a school of fashion that studies the elegance of the Universe, a school of design that studies the architecture of the ancients, a school of philosophy that studies the time-tested Truth.

Everything is just perfect for life on this planet. The atmosphere, the distance to the sun, rotation of the Earth, everything. Just perfect for life. If any of it were to change any little bit, then we wouldn't be here to even discuss this. The probability of those same requirements being found anywhere else in the universe (no matter how big) is highly improbable
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

Soren Kierkegaard

With all due respect...That is the most absurd thing I've ever read in my entire life...Are you saying...That among the billion and billion of stars that have solar systems of their own...That...Ours is unique..? Are you serious..? Where did you come up with this...Theory..?

Extremophiles, organisms which thrive in or require "extreme" conditions, have been a topic of much reseach regarding the existence of life on other planets. One type, the xerotolerant extremophile, survives where a infinitesimal amount of water is present- a condition similar to that of the one below the surface of Mars. Parallels between other extremophiles and their habitats have been to other planets, as well. Aside from this evidence, there is also...logic. Ayhja is 100% correct and I fully agree- we are FAR from alone.

(From A) "And LG...Before you duck outta the topic...Let us be reminded that it was you who so boldly claimed that God did not exist...So, explain yourself if you can...I'm interested to see which or what God you refute..."
Are we starting a new thread on this? Because I'd love to post on it, lol.

well...start the thread yourself then.... I'm all for spreading around my opinions on it....then being called ignorant and stupid.....then arguing about it until the topic dies...no one taking on any new belief than that of what they already posses......religion is a touchy subject.

......my momma wouldn't duck outta this discussion... /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Don't troll, control..! Define for me a God that doesn't exist, that is not based on some religion...

Because even in saying that there are no higher powers, aren't you saying there are..? Ergo, if something doesn't exist, how could you speak of it..?

this was never about my personal beliefs..... it was more questioning...because the majority of people I know who believe strongly in god have no proof of exsistence.....so how it it logical to say there isn't life elsewhere, because theres no proof....but blindly follow a god, when there is equally so, no proof.

it never had anything to do with my personal beliefs.

Woah, he's denying the "physical" existence of a higher power- not the concept of one.

I'm not denying anything.....I'm just simply trying to make sure people aren't being hypocritical...
