I don't mind Nicholas Cage's acting, but he does seem a bit old for the part. I am keeping my mind open.

I've kept my mind open long enough to go back and try to watch the movie 5 times. I seriously want to just give it a chance and i'm not having any luck.
Guess what i'm trying to say is that this movie completely shit the bed. Like it sucks such ass it's not even funny. Even with Eva Mendes this movie is still at a level so far below the lowest point on any rating system that I can't even rate it.
Do not, and I repeat DO NOT, watch this movie.

That's when the homie BZA first started this topic...And then, as time neared on, here I come posting messages about how damn yummy Eva was for the film...
Now, we're anticipating and on some dick hard...
Movie comes out, and is a CG masterpiece, but we already knew that...
The main thing was to combat the inherent lameness that works against comic to movie films...
CG = ++++
But...
Shit like a martini glass full of jelly beans..? That lame finger pointing..?
The fact that...This dudes head is on fucking fire...Flaming even, and people are standing there firing handguns..? This fucker just rode his bike on the top of water and flipped you the bird before doing 120 MPH up the side of a sky scraper...But a Glock - 9 stops him..?
I just...
And the ending was all, all wrong...I need to read a few comics or something, but I'm afraid to cause I'll be even more pissed...

I think you are all crazy. I enjoyed seeing this one.
To be honest, you lose the right to bitch when you consent to watching a movie about a leather clad flaming skeleton. Skeletons have no facial features, or expressions. You knew Cage was in it, and he is entertaining to me with his "the most mephis in Tayhas" flare in this movie. As for the pointing, the pimp shades, and the rockabilly elements... I got the sense that his dad loved elvis, and he loved his dad. I thought his character was pretty well developed for his larger than life persona, and there were some scenes of the GhostRider that I would love to have as wallpaper. I also really liked his dliemma of wondering if he was successful because of his contract with the devil.
If you are crying because its not like the comic, you need to get a grip. The comic would not work as a movie. To be honest, the comic was fucking horrible half the time. But the character was cool. Eva was hot, the stunts were cool. Peter Fonda as Mephisto was awesome, and who cares what devil made him the rider. and damn if the movie didn't have Sam Friggin Eliot in it. Ever since Lonesome Dove, he has been the shit for cowboy movies.
The actions scenes were pretty sparse, but half of any copy of Ghost Rider you pick up from my childhood was nothing but Johnny Blaze brooding and drunk. The best part of most of the comics was the friggin cover art.
for the record, the jelly beans was cool, and not just because I have so much damn cady laying around my house. it because EVERYONE I KNOW has a vice, and he was trying to not give in to the same kind of human weakness that left his ass in a sling with the devil owning his soul. looking for a chance, wondering if it really happened, and wondering if the devil was really going to come back for him.

I have no opinion. I haven't seen it. I'll wait until it's out on DVD or I download it. It looked interesting, but not like something to go out of my way to see.
