QUOTEThey are computers for people who need to draw, not who need to compute.

As condescending as that statement feels, lol!, I'm afraid I must agree.

I like Mac, very simply for the fact that for me as a digital artist, works, it performs VERY well. I'm currently working on a Mac Mini...a Mini!!!!, a $600 mac used by fucking hot receptionists in Ad agencies. I'm making this little bitch sweat out projects that require me to keep all three major Adobe CS apps (PhotoShop, Illustrator and InDesign) running smoothly, otherwise working with Macromedia's joints for some web projects.

I'm also very aware of its limitations as I shudder to think about my fucking lunchbox-looking "Power Mac" trying to work out a RAM preview in AfterEffects or god forbid, 3D graphics from Maya. Of course, that has to do more with my current....uhm...."rig" than Apple, since animation companies use Mac's in their render farms.

They have a purpose, and it certainly isn't Homeland Security and satellite tracking (not that i'm aware of anyways).

see the macromedia thing is where i am headed, AS2 is impressive even on a PC.

and i am thinking about getting a mac for that, because it can perfectly integrate with PC's.

QUOTE(deepdiver32073)QUOTE(teh1337357)  I may have a tendency not to like people from a certain race, but it has nothing to do with being racist.

Just FYI... that's the definition of racist... not liking someone just because they are of a different race.
No, that's completely different. Nowhere did I say it was because of the race. I don't hate because of a race. I dislike people because of their actions.

But whatever, I'm just putting this thread behind me and I hope everyone else does.

And RIMFIRE, I apologize. It wasn't blatantly obvious to me, simply because that's the same type of thing someone will post on a tech news site in the comments section.

Forgive me everyone. Just put this post behind you. I've had a shit week and it's showing in my behavior.

oh, that's it...

you still read tech newsletters, with zealots.

i got rid of all of that. when the big stuff happens, i still hear about it, and i don't have to pour through the dregs of tech equivalent to unwashed pigs insulting jessica alba because she has pointy knees, when their lucky to find a whore who will accept their cash in hand.

dude, most of that is crap. you'll see...

til then, peace. and take it easy here. and keep the flames in the fireplace.

BTW
crosspost from worldwide NJ slogan thread:

woah, teh is from Jersey. where abouts? i work in princeton, right near marketplace fair.

(and my girl's fam is in mercer county.)

I'm in Morris County. You're approximately an hour and a half from me where you work if I remember correctly. PM me if you're ever going to be up here, further north in NJ.

Anyway, I'm glad you're not still pissed at me for the most part. My bad on most of this, although I still do love OS X and Apple hardware.

man, its cool.

I ain't trying to beef with people here. and i did kind of flip my shit. prolly both of us blowing off steam what ain't got nothing to do with one another, or operating systems. mad deadlines at work.

me, i get no less than five questions (not from my girl, just random people who ask me) about iPods a week, which means i have had to look far too much into them than I ever weanted to, and i have had it.

and i have been looking (reluctantly) for a mac, and I will be honest it's not an easy search.

as far as the mac, all i want is a good machine for adobe illustrator, acrobat and all kinds of macromedia stuff. and to be doing research on macs, having questions about iPods, and just because i wanna train cross-platform into more industry-standard design gear. i lost a good business opportunity in design for not knowing how to do what i do on a mac.

Working as a Network Admin in a 2003 Active Directory domain there is not much I can say on the subject here but I know a few people who just purchased the new iMAC and they swear by it... With my Audio programs always fucking crashing on Windows I may have to look into one because Bill Gates is pissing me off...

Wait for more support for Intel versions of products before you go for it. They're making a nice transition, but support still needs to be built up.
