Brains,
Please let me know the months and years when HAMAS upheld a cease fire for 1.5 years.
best I can see, every time they offered, they caimed responsibility for an attack that killed or injured Israeli citizens within a month, at most.
So list me these 18 consecutive months of no attacks from HAMAS, or shut up about them. Because HAMAS has offered hudna several times, like when they killed 100 people in a bus bombing in retaliation for a targeted assassination by the IDF that rendered no civilian casualties, and then offered a Hudna four days later.
Brains, I can't figure if you just like to fight for the underdog, or you are looking for a PR job for a developing Paramilitant Rights Awareness Network. They are a suicidal cult armed with missiles who has been recruiting fromt the cradle, with an interactive webstie to teach people who to aspire to be chosen for suicide attacks!!! How many times have you protested the idiots in Palestine building missiles that explode at their rallies, and kill militants. I actually know someone who posts recipes for missiles that explode on launch on miltant forums, just for that occasion. and he's a chemist AND an Arab.
with a great sense of humor.
What about your country, whatever that is? Say, Belgium,.. Lord of the NATO. I can not believe you would fight so hard for the recognition of a couple hundred people in the German speaking regions of Belgium who started building missiles and started attacking the Netherlands on the basis of all of this was their homeland they took by war from the Celts, and that they then lost to the Holy Roman Empire.
so, c'mon 18 months of carebears, unicorns, and rainbows from HAMAS. let's see em.

hahaha!
I am asking you guys the same question time and again and all you can do is come up with a counter-question? are you joking?
how about answering mine first, hmmm?
that was: where in the last five years has Israel suspended hostile activities (cease-fire)?
but since I am all goodwill, here's likely the first time Hamas did breach the cease-fire:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5066768.stm
do you find any more - effectively disproving the existence of a 1.5y Hamas ceasefire?
btw: it is more I like to fight for the underdog. I have no affiliation with Palestine, nor with Israel. I am a "citizen of the world" (haha) and the conflict troubles me. I feel it is Israel now who is more the aggressor than Palestine. On this board and ieX I mostly find totally biased defense for Israelis. Put it another way: if I were on a board where I would only find biased articles to the defense of Palestinians, I would level that out with the Israeli side as well.

Bomb targeted the head of Palestinian security forces. Believed to be planted by Hamas. (So that's why they haven't been attacking Israel as much... too busy fighting themselves...)
They†™‚¢‚¢¢¢¬…¡‚¬‚¢¢¢¬…¾‚¢ve pledged support to Iran.
They never condemned the bombing during Passover.
They†™‚¢‚¢¢¢¬…¡‚¬‚¢¢¢¬…¾‚¢ve threatened to end the †™‚¢‚¢¢¢¬…¡‚¬¢‚¬¦¢¢¬…œcease-fire†™‚¢‚¢¢¢¬…¡‚¬? on more than one occasion.
They†™‚¢‚¢¢¢¬…¡‚¬‚¢¢¢¬…¾‚¢ve told other militant groups that attacks against Israel should continue.
I found this kind of funny... most of the articles I read, and I read alot, said that "the group has largely held to an informal truce for more than a year." Key word there: largely. lol Not 'has held' or 'has strictly held.'
I find your question (where in the last five years has Israel suspended hostile activities (cease-fire)?) kind of funny. Do you know what started in 2000? lol

Just saw this now... so, you're just arguing for the sake of arguing? You don't actually care one way or the other... you're just wasting our time. Wonderful... lol

Hey Brains, I bet you can't guess who built that power station that the Israeli's blow up two weeks ago...waiting...still waiting...that's right, the Great country of the United States. I'm sure that little tid bit would never leave your lips at a tea party.
How much money have you donated to the peaceful cause of Hamas this year or any year? I bet it's more than you gave to your own country's people of need.

CNN's carrying this headline right now: Israeli jets hit targets in southern Lebanon as Hezbollah TV reports two Israeli soldiers captured along the border. Details soon.
I'm still waiting for the story...

I do kramer. I do know what started in 2000. Do YOU know why it started?
And... is the 2nd intifada alone reason to uphold Israeli offensives when the "enemy" has offered - and held to - truces more than once?
You are indeed correct with these breaches of the cease-fire. What were the reasons they did so? Did they ever take initiative to breach it without reason or were these breaches consequently a reaction to something the Israelis did?
I am not arguing for the sake of argument. I am arguing because if people (you, me, ... the "common" people) blindly support one side alone, the public opinion created through it actually endorses the actions taken by that side. In order to create an atmosphere for dialogue it is important that the two parties discussing about a common problem understand eachother's motives. If the other side is consequently vilified by the common man - or by a state for that matter - the step towards seeing them as fellow human beings becomes bigger and more extreme actions follow.
