I bought a new fridge to replace my 25 year old one and recall saving a not insignifiant amount of money on the next 3 monthly bill.

QUOTE(Adtz @ Mar 30 2007, 09:11 PM) It's a big house with two teenagers. I'm not quite sure why it's so high.
I feel that pain!!!!!!!! I actually stopped using the propane heat because the price went up so much that it cost more the the electric. Why propane went up in price when the oil rigs were damaged by Katrina I have NO IDEA! :grumble: :grumble: :grumble:

Light bill???

Is that the same as Electric Bill??

Fridge, Heater, 14 Lights, 3 laptops, 2 desktops, TV and oven = 125.00 - electricity sold back = $30 -- solar is the only way to go here in SoCal (the govt f$cked up the electric companies and such-- some in SoCal still get $500- 600 bills using very little electricity)

Cool- just wondering

I lived in the South for a longtime (SC, GA, TX) but Uncle Sam paid the bills in the billets and barracks.

$58.00 ...Cheapest I've had in years. I got my hot water heater changed over to off peak so now it only heats up once a day instead of all day. We've also got this new scheme where we can get every light bulb in the house changed over to those long lasting enrgy saver ones, completely for free..and someone comes and does it for you....paid for by the government...it's supposed to help stop global warming I think.

My damned electric company (coop) can't seem to get their asses in gear and do a regular reading. One month it'll push $300 (3 bed/2 bath, about 1700 sq. ft.) This month it was $75. Once again, they've been estimating (high as usual) and this month they did an actual reading. I've told them time and time again that if they'll just call the house, the wife will pull the dogs inside; not that they'd hurt the meter reader, just lick him to death.

Dumbasses.
