Yeah I remember the robotic lookin B. They gave up on that look too quickly. I always thought he looked coolest like that.

I wonder if they avoid that look because he would look and have powers too similar to the Cyborg Superman?

Re: Man Of Steel
True but then they stupidly went back to the old look which looks too much like a green Luthor. So maybe they...ahh never mind. I just hope he looks like the robotic lookin Brainy. Probably all moot anyway cause they'll probably feature Doomsday anyhow.

Louis Leterrier Approached To Do Superman Sequel?

It looks like Bryan Singer may be losing his second shot at the Man Of Steel. Today we get news that Louis Leterrier may have been offered the job! We get the folowing scoop from our friends at cinematical:
There was an interview with Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier over at AlloCiné (via AICN) in which someone threw out a number of different sequels (Spider-Man, Superman, Indiana Jones), and (I think) asked if he’d be interested in directing any of them. Now, according to someone who wrote in to AICN, Leterrier stopped at Superman and said something like … “maybe they have already asked me.” We here at Cinematical have watched the video in question (you can too over here), and he definitely does look at the camera, smile and say something regarding the Superman sequel. I don’t speak French, though, but it appears as if that’s the correct translation.
Just last week Mark Miller was calling dibs on the next Superman picture, and now we learn that Louis Leterrier may have been scouted by DC? The waters in which Bryan Singer swims, are infested with sharks! I think all of this news circling about, and the lack of a f timeframe spells bad news for Mr. Singer. I could be wrong, we may get an announcement next week that he is back in the saddle…..but I feel winds of change about my breast.
I wouldn’t mind if they switched up directors, but I think it’s a shame that Brandon Routh and Kevin Spacey may get tossed as part of the reboot. I enjoyed both of their performances and would love for them to stay on board, but if the continuity is going to stay true - we will also have to account for Superman’s kid and Lois Lanes new boy toy Cyclops. Sadly I think it would be easier for them to just restart the franchise ala Hulk. Man that kid was a stupid fucking idea.
International friends, I would like to know your reaction to this news. Would you be disappointed if Singer got the axe? If he does, who would you like to see take the reigns of the man in tights?
I dug Incredible Hulk . A lot. Letterier fits the bill as far as the “Action Director” Millar hinted at. Though in fairness, Singer is the better allround director & his action chops are nothing to sneer at. I reference the Wolverine/Mystique & Wolverine/Sabertooth fights from X1 & ALL the bangin’ fight scenes from X2. Give the dude one more chance to “Go all Wrath Of Khan” on a Superman flick & then reboot.

Re: Man Of Steel
As a Superman fan, the fact that Superman Returns was probably not even my favorite movie of the year, let alone Superhero flick worries me...Luther (though Spacey is a great actor) was all wrong, Lois was all wrong...Did I mention this whole kid thing was ridiculous..? The only thing I think he got reeeallly right was the casting of Brandon...His powers, though not on full showcase, were adequate for a first time out film...I'm all for second chances, but I wouldn't be shocked if he got some Ang Lee treatment...

I agree that Bosworth was badly miscast. I get Spacey's darker take on Luthor due to him just being released from the clink. They do say prison changes a man.. I wanna see Letterier & Norton's much talked about cut of Incredible Hulk before i give him my blessing to helm a Supes film. I was never impressed by his Transporter film (i didn't bothef seeing the sequel) & I felt his Jet Li vehicle ,Unleashed lacked a lot of umph & could've been better executed by someone else.

I dug Transporter, but I routinely don't enjoy Jet Li films...Unleashed made me feel like I'd just poured 2 week old milk into the last bowl of my favorite cereal...At this point, I'd give a director a shot until they got that shit right...To be honest, I'd like to see a Smallville movie with Welling as Superman...That would probably net them the dollars they're looking for...

LOL. think outside the Kal-El fanboyism for a hot minute,Ja. Do you really think a Smallville movie will make the general moviegoers go in droves to watch it?!? From what i can gather, people who aint seen the shit have too many negatory preconceptions of the show.
